Gareth Bale

If Gareth Bale's move to Real Madrid has shaken the Spanish league to its very foundations, then Mesut Özil's move in the opposite direction, to Arsenal, has had a similar effect, shaking up the Premier League both on and off the pitch.
According to online shop UKSoccershop, in terms of sales, for every shirt it sells with Gareth Bale's name on it, it sells five with the German’s.
This is an interesting fact given that Florentino Pérez has always been in favour of signing high-profile players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaká, Zidane and David Beckham.
Gareth Bale's move to Real Madrid has simply not generated as much expectation in terms of merchandising, at least in England.

"I wouldn't say that there isn't any interest in Bale shirts. Our data shows that he isn't attracting as much attention as Neymar when he signed for Barcelona this summer," the website's general manager told the Daily Mail, using the analogy of two more similar events, given that both players have moved to La Liga.
Logically, the higher demand for Özil shirts has an explanation; that the German has just touched down in the Premier League, whilst Bale has just left.

Beast please explain.

Of course pretty normal , Ozil move to Arsenal is similar to Bale to Real Madrid...
the highest amount Arsene paid was 25 Million for Arshavin... he paid almost double for Ozil.... he is Arsenal Bale man and Arsenal is popular in England so normal the local sales will be high
People outside the Arsenal /EPL fans like you or me seem to underestimate the move... this is the first ESTABLISHED star Arsenal buy under Wenger in a very long time ...
To summarize it for you ... Ozil move for Arsenal is similar to us buying CR or Zidane or you buying Ibra...
moreover who is UKsoccershop ? putting UK and soccer in one word is hilarious to say the least ..

.

So that means that in the UK, Özil shirts are sold more than Bale's? But that's not surprising at all. I figure in Spain, Bale's shirt sales are much higher than Özil's right now, for the same reason.

It's one online shop man.... and based on Scotland , of course Neymar shirts will sell more.. Neymar been with Barca for 2+ Month and played several games... Bale joined less than two weeks ago and didn't even kick a ball in our kit...

... Stats stats stats... And CR was last year top goal scored in the CL so your point is CR is better than Messi last year ?
in one of those seasons Messi scored more than 50 % of his goals in one game... ? as for scoring against all la liga CR also scored against all sides in the liga including his own  in less time than Messi

Stats are useful when you use them correctly. CR may have scored against all La Liga teams in a season, but he didn't score against all 19 in a row. Scoring against every team in a row is the definition of unstoppable. CR outscored Messi in the CL last year, so in that tournament he was more "unstoppable" but Messi handily outscored him in La Liga, he also made more assists, dribbles and passes if you want to put general play into numbers. So no, Messi was the better player last year.

It also comes down to how you define unstoppable. If it's in terms of goalscoring, Messi averages more than a goal a game the past couple of seasons and higher than either CR or Ronaldo. Of course we'll never know what Ronaldo could have achieved. Pre-injury he was something else, as a striker the word astonishing comes to mind.

But I guess that's why I would say Messi is still underrated. He does not have an awe inspiring physical presence like Ronaldo, he's quite unassuming, but he's achieved such a level of mastery that he makes it look easy. He combines the goalscoring of Mueller, with the dribbling and playmaking of Maradona with tiki-taka akin to Iniesta/Xavi.

Our data shows that he isn't attracting as much attention as Neymar when he signed for Barcelona this summer . not the total no. of jersey sold mate. i think this transfer wont have as much effect in your economy like the previous world records.

nobody is unstoppable, outside of hyperbole land, also while the WC is more popular and prestigious than the CL, it is in now way better, the CL is a much more difficult competition to win.

back in the pele days and maradona won it just about the last time it was the actual most difficult thing to win, then it was different, now no way.

can we imagine what

chelsea would do to england
bayern to germany
psg to france

the list goes in, in a time gone by the WC was the only way the best could match up against themselves, this is no longer the case.

 He was always considered a left back only on papers, actually he played only a few games there. And right now he shouldn't simply play there just because he COULD in the past, he's not good at it and it's a wasting of his abilities. Playing Arbeloa or Nacho there will make much more sense and it has more chances of happening.
