Gareth Bale

I think you guys are missing the point. He isn't a bad player as such, would always be useful to have a pacy player like him in the squad. The point being made is once someone pays 100 mil for you, once you start getting compared to the best players on the planet, once you start being put on the same pedestal as the worlds elite, you are expected to have certain footballing abilities that he just does not. Hence the surprise of many that he is so overrated. It isn't his fault a moronic club paid that much for him, but he will still be judged by his transfer fee.

How many players would you honestly choose over him if you was a mid table PL team with a blank cheque book?

Would have to be a forward (sorry Neur) as they are what would make biggest difference.

Messi
Ronaldo
Robben hmm maybe, Bale is 5 years younger
Ibra .. getting old
Suarez maybe
Neymar nah
Hazard nah
Reus nah

Look at the effect he had when he carried an average Spurs to 5th in PL.

Suarez - maybe? Suarez last season was the second best player in the world. He is the worlds best striker. Bale does not come anywhere close.

Neymar - Yes, I would. Already showing us what he's capable of and still not reached anywhere near his potential. You're talking about someone who is potentially player of the year. Even if he doesn't reach that potential, he's still pretty good. So definitely would choose him

Hazard - definitely

Reus - Maybe not

Others I would choose over him - Isco (not exactly a forward, but can count him in), Di Maria, Iniesta if we are counting attacking mids, just to name a few at the top of my head.

Luckily you are wrong, or Wales would have 0 pts in Euros.
I am not since I was talking about la liga.

Knowing what he's capable of, I expect more from him than what he actually does.

Dunno why you're so defensive about it that you had to rely to point his past performances and all in your above posts. If you're really a fan of him (I was a big fan of him when he was a spurs, and still am even if RM is not my cup of tea), then you should know he can do better.

Bale won the awards over Suarez when they both played in PL. Neymar is way too light weigh to carry a PL team, and Hazard whilst also a top player would not contribute any where near the goals + assists.

Put Neymar on Spurs team 2 seasons ago, what would they have done? nothing really.

Put Yajdshjsdasdiasyuad on Spurs team 2 seasons ago, what would they have done? You, me or anyone else know shit all.

However this 'too light' argument which was threwn around by the ignorant EPL purists many years ago have been destroyed several times already so your point about Neymar being 'too light' doesn't make any sense when 'too light' players have done quite well in The Premier League and even outperformed your "strong and powerful" players greatly.

Bale was awesome for Spurs and I'm not gonna get into a useless argument which you've come up with about putting Neymar into Spurs at that time because none of us could possibly know how he would've done.

Neymar has over 40 goals for Brazil and is outplaying Bale this season.

And I would take Suarez over Bale any day. Bale is a top player though, although this season he has been a bit underwhelming up to this point.

Neymar is something else though, it looks like the wind might catch him, and blew him out of the stadium. He is ligthweight by any standards.

Still manages to do better or perform at par with strong and powerful Bale, with much less space to operate with.

Ronaldo 2004-2006 was like this Neymar and still managed to fool basically all defenders in the PL. It's all about the skill, if you can play football well then you will play it well in any league.

Ronado has always been much stronger than Neymar.
