I stand by my belief of him being the most overrated player on the planet. And I'm starting to get the feeling that more Madrid fans are moving a little bit closer to me... slowly
He's just too unskilled. You rarely see a player on a top team who is capable of looking as amateurish as he looks at times. It's embarrassing to watch him. And even more embarrassing is how Isco was benched for him.
He's so unnecessary to the team, offers nothing they don't have, and often generally just does more damage to the team than good.
I can only hope and pray that he stays healthy for the rest of the year

My sentiments exactly. Okay so he has tremendous pace and a good long shot, but jeez he's terrible technically. I don't think he's a terrible player to have, I would love to have someone like him in the squad. But to be one of the most expensive signings ever, and to be playing ahead of Isco, and to be touted as one of the best in the world..I don't know how to react. Against top teams with good defences, he offers very little, and hence I too hope he keeps benching Isco - who according to me, is one hell of a player.

I agree he is overrated, but just because he is not a midget with the best ball controll doesnt mean he is a bad player, he is a very good one. What he showed at spurs and glimpses last season shows he got a lot of potential, if he will be a success here remains to see. In form he offers something no one else than Ronaldo does for us. The power and pace he brings is something few others can replicate.

You can't compare him to Isco, they are different players entirely. His touch is not 'poor' or he wouldn't have got to Real Madrid and he wouldn't have won PL player of the year, admittedly he looks awkward sometimes in comparison but Isco's whole game is built on this asset, Bale is a power player. Lets see Isco score a goal like Bale scored vs Barca or Vallecano last season.

He was invisible for a major part of the game but his right footed finish was excellent! Not many even right footed players can finish it like that.

It's still not enough.
I could say the same about Zlatan against ajax.
Scoring once won't change the fact he was shitty 99% of the game.
