That's why it's annoying.

Only an idiot would say he's the 3rd best player in the world and only an idiot would actually believe people think that. It's like you don't know the reactionary nature of humans. People haven't said many things about Messi lately but if he scored a hat trick against AC Milan as Barcelona won 3-0; EVERYONE would start talking about how amazing he is again.

Bale has proven to be a fantastic player and only someone who hates him just because he's British would deny that.

I think the REAL TEST of Bale's abilty will come next season. Spurs look like they will qualify for UCL due to the ineptitude of their rivals.
I personally rate GB very highly even though he is a diver and CR7 fanboy. He is on a hot run having scored 11 in his last 9, so rightfully he his grabbing everyones attention.

I understand the comparisons made with CR7 even though he is clearly not in that league, yet!?!.
Much as RM's counter-attacking style is ideally suited to CR7, the same can be said of THS and Bale.
They both have blistering pace, outstanding technique and fearsome long-shot. Plus they both use the knuckleball-freekick.

He will find it much harder next season (should he stay there) because everyone will be out to stop him. Teams will pay Spurs a lot more respect and park the bus more often. So it will be intriguing to see if he can adapt to playing against a wall of defenders like Messi & Co. have to, every week.

He's based in London he'll get it. RVP as won the POTY award for the last 2 seasons, Scotty fucking Parker Football Writers and Kyle Walker Young player, it's how these things go. RVP as been more constant than Bale will have a Premier League title and as just basically been what he as for the last 2 seasons at Arsenal that won him POTY, maybe even took his game to a higher level, but because he's not based in London anymore he won't get it.
