Ronaldo is a finished product , he can't improve anymore he is already a mature , peaked player... the only way is down from here (that's my opinion)
Bale on the other hand is very young , still hungry for success and can improve a lot to be maybe better than Ronaldo

You are correct in that CR7 has hit his peak and he won't get any better now. But there is NO WAY that Bale will REACH Cristiano's level, let alone overtake it.

Bale had one sensational second half of last season. It seemed like every shot he struck, went in. The two previous seasons before, he was very good, but he is not at the level as Cristiano was in his final 3 seasons at Man Utd.

You say that Bale could be coming as replacement for CR7 as he has two years remaining and may not renew. If that is true then, it would make sense to go for Bale because then the two of them won't be at odds. And you would still get huge money for CR7.

Bale has moulded himself in the style of Cristiano and as another member has mentioned, he is more like Ronaldo-Light. Bale takes all the free-kicks, with the same knuckle-ball technique, and has carte-blanche to go wherever he wants on the field. It just seems like to two of them will interfere with each others space and detract from each others abilities. Even though they are phenomenal players, it could upset the balance of the team.

It is difficult to see how both footballing egos can be indulged should they be teamed together.

You cannot judge how far he will got at this age.. but on scale of player vs player he showed a lot more skill and talent in a lesser team and coach guiding Spurs (not United )

We (as in Madridista and the club ) trust Zidane eye for talent and we see Bale as the next big thing... making it in Real is better than making it elsewhere when you return 3-4 years down the line and pay a lot more for him than now

Ronaldo was better at 23 than Bale is. He was voted the third best player in the world, was the premier league player of the year and scored 17 and asissted 7 from right wing in the league.

Ronaldo was easily the better player and younger in your comparison also.

I don't know if you are referring to Cristiano's entire time at Manu, if you are, then agree that in his early years, he was just a glorified show-pony.

CR7 signed for RMA at 24, the same age Bale is now. And for his last 3 seasons (2006-07, 2007-08 & 2008-09) he was a phenomenon. I won't go into comparing their stats, cause that's just lame. But having followed CR7 and Bale's last 3 seasons (if this is to be Bale's last at Spurs), I can confidently say that Ronaldo was on a whole nother level. So we are just going to have to agree to disagree on that.

Regards to their respective clubs at the time: Man Utd and Spurs, you can look at it two ways:

You can either say that Cristiano played for a great United team and yet he STILL stood out, and that Bale stands out for Spurs because he is playing with lesser talent that make him appear superior.

Or...

You can come from the angle that it was easier for Cristiano at Manu BECAUSE he had better players around him, and it's HARDER for Bale at Spurs because his team-mates aren't as good, making it more difficult for him.

He was sensational for three seasons by that point. When he was 23 he was the best player in the world and scored 42 goals in one season.

Not at the time Messi wasnt, Ronaldo had scored 68 goals in his last two seasons for us. had won a balon dor, and at the time messi was just starting to get his reputation he was only 21.

Bale while having a brilliant season, its just that, one season, for the past two years he has been constantly overrated he is not yet worth the huge fee its mostly because he is british. You said at the same age bale was better than ronaldo that is how you justify the fee, Bale since 2010/2013 age 21-24 37 goals in 99 games. Cr7 at the same age 2006-2009 age 21-24 66 goals in 99 games.

If he can carry on the same form next couple years he might be worth it, but how are you going to fit both Ronaldo and Bale in the same team?
