It's not. It's the fact the games are faster and more competitive. Plus there isn't as many stoppages for silly fouls. It's more watchable especially to Americans. :)

In all English speaking countries, EPL is the most popular. In all Spanish speaking countries, La Liga is the most popular. You just cant ignore this fact. It is no coincidence you know.

Really?

They struggled with PSG and you beat them quite comfortably. They where outplayed at home the season before that by A Madrid. Chelsea would probably get 4th but I think they would be behind the big 3.

Yea I changed that after. I was probably being a bit harsh on them but I think they would all be behind Sevilla which is what I meant by mid table but I realized that mid-table means to most people around 10th rather than 5th to 15th.

I'm a fan of it and there's no doubt the the teams are far closer together and the bottom half teams are probably better than the bottom half teams in La Liga at least from around 13th or so down.

I'd agree with that. Top half la liga is better than any other league's top half.

It's hard to judge to bottom half. I think the reason people say the prem is more competitive is because of the playstyle which is end to end and gives lower teams a better chance. Not sure the bottom half teams in the prem actually have better quality than other leagues.

The Prem is the most popular everywhere apart from Europe (local leagues are good most people support their local teams), South America and the Middle east (madrid and barca are very popular there).

The bottom half of La Liga get more points over the course of the season than EPL teams get. That is the best way to measure how good the bottom half teams are and La Liga wins in that department.

You can win points from each other. It might just mean there are less draws. How many genuine upsets are there.

If the bottom half of the EPL were better then they would have accumulated more points in their league than the bottom half La Liga teams. But they dont. They accumulate less points.

Not really.

If there are two or three teams in the league much stronger than the rest then you would expect the lower half to have more points than if there were 4/5 better than the rest.

They don't have messi and Ronaldo. So obviously there will be more upsets. But upsets wont happen in la liga is a myth.

They might be better but it's hard to judge. That stat is the best thing to go by but not 100% indicator.

It doesn't matter anyway, in any league the top teams should beat the bottom ones. So that can't be held against ourselves or the madrid clubs. As if those three wouldn't beat bottom half prem teams like hull because it's "so competitive".

If they win points from each other the other teams lose the points. There are about equal number of draws in La Liga and the EPL. When the upper half is better in La Liga and the bottom half get more points than EPL teams, that is the best indicator that the bottom half is also better in La Liga.

I'm not saying they don't happen but they happen often in the EPL and the games themselves are more competitive. The better teams might still end up winning the games but it's closer.

It's not just Messi and Ronaldo. Suarez was amazing for Liverpool, he took a team that by right is around 6th-8th position in the league and almost won the league with them and that was after missing the first 6 games but at Barca he was almost not considered that good to begin with.

EPL might hover up a lot of the mid-tier quality players but La Liga gets all the cream.

Yeah, that is a big, big myth quite frankly. Especially in away games in La Liga, where Spanish teams have less fan support than away teams in the EPL, upsets happen all the time for top teams.

That logic doesnt add up at all.

You are starting from assumption that team for team La Liga is stronger in top half than England. When in reality it is only the top three that are better.

Fans of EPL could turn your logic to show that top half of EPL is stronger than La Liga if the lower teams in La Liga are taking more points. Could be argued a heap of different ways.

Hull beat and drew with Liverpool, where beat by Chelsea (2-3), drew with Man City and Arsenal.

They also beat and drew with us

And where relegated.
