Chelsea keen to get him to Stamford Bridge with the 10M buyout clause still active... Hope he doesn't succumb to big money, he could be a star at Barca first XI in time! What do you guys think? Will he fall for the money Chelski will most certainly give him?

I'm pretty confident he'll stay put. Even though he doesn't seem like the brightest kid, I'm sure getting an early taste of first team footy this season, will make him think twice before abandoning ship. Besides with contract talks coming up, he should get a healthy pay rise and feel appreciated here.

Jesus, that would be dumb. Chelski is always destroying the budding careers of promising youngsters like Kakuta,

He's not a bright/mature kid at all, wouldn't be surprised if he goes after the big money.

I think that last season with the b team was a serious wakeup call for him though. He was expecting to waltz straight in there and set the world alight. He found it was way harder than expected, and after a slow start it seemed like he really dug his heels in. I think he has matured quite a bit over the last 6 months or so, and I believe he has the right mindset to succed here. All he needs to do is to be patient and listen to Tito.

He's not wired like the typical cantera kid and while I don't care for his egotistical side, he has rebuffed advances from abroad before...So credit has to go to the kid, still

Should also remember that similar things were said about Thiago to some degree yet no one doubts his professionalism any longer...He's been the big fish in a small pond in the youth leagues and with the NT and has been humbled, I'm sure, during his time with the first team...He'll either 'get it' or he won't but I wouldn't slam the kid for not being intelligent

I'm more concerned about his workrate because while he may be behind Tello in terms of development and professionalism, he's more of a natural goalscorer than the player 3 years his senior...I feel more calm about the player improving his professionalism from what I've seen of him in the last year which is refreshing

About the workrate..
I remember Thiago looked chubby and lazy while he was in Barca B and I never would have guessed he'd apply himself so well in his defensive duties.
By now, Deulofeu must know what's required from a winger at Barca so we'll see what he does.

And that's the thing, I don't believe this squad would permit an ego disruption from a cantera player - they invariably find their place in the squad and make sure team comes before ego

You know, I believe that Thiago gets a lot of stick because of the way he looks, with that smirk and the tats and stuff. But I've never seen him being anything less than pure class on the pitch.

Deulofeu, however, is a bit of a Cristiano-sized diva, with the tantrums, the selfish play, the unnecessary showing off... that goes well beyond his looks.

I agree, he seems like a very humble person.
