I am wary of Gerard's ego too, but this comparison with Cronaldo is pointless as I see it. Deulofeu is growing within the club, watching his idols play, training with and being mentored by them, and is inevatibly going to be playing alongside them regularly. He won't become the star of the squad within 3-4 years like Cristiano did. Sure, he could eventually become one of the stars, but he'll be in the shadow of the likes of Messi - just as he should.
When that is said, I don't think he should be promoted next summer, unless if course Tito surprises us all and starts playing him more during the coming half of the ongoing season. He should have a transition season just like Pedro had in 08/09, where he'll feature in 20 games or so, mostly from the bench. The season after that, he'd be ready to make the final step up. Whether this is good enough for Deulo, I don't know, but I do believe both Tito, the board and the player himself knows the plan, and are taking it a step at a time.
