Yeah, that was brilliantly angled and weighted. Not technically a back-"heel" this time- more of a drag-push pass with the ball of his foot (a la Cruyff Turn), far more accurate (at 0:43):

actually he was doing really good up until that point and i don't think he could've done much more tbh, the ball was coming at him with speed and he just wasn't fast enough to react as most people wouldn't have been. it was more abidal/mascherano's fault. mostly though, it was just pure stinking bad luck
