Why not? He's been pretty good in all the big games he's played (Atletico x 2 in the CL and RM in the Copa final I believe). Pique would definitely be an improvement though.

He has been under par in alot of big games, he is an ok C.B and might even be a very good CB with time , but for now, with the League on the line i would take Pique every day of the week.

Well Mascherano isnt really a CB at all is he? he is just made to play there because of lack of options, i still choice him Before Batra in a big game and so should you.
