Are you being sarcastic or agreeing with me? I never said he shouldn't have been a starter for Pep... lol! I'm saying he should not have been a starter for EV, RK, and even Lucho. A terrible counterargument yet again and you didn't even answer my question: Point me to a decent CL game that Busi had without his two compatriots.

He was only world class from 2009-2012 and that's cause Xaviesta made him look world class. There were still times when he got exposed for example against Inter away when Schneider and Co left him for dead.
He was good in 2014 - 2015 but Iniesta and Rakitic carried the midfield. 2016 onwards he has been shite especially so in cl. I was never a big fan of his anyway and preferred the power of Yaya over him anyday.
I especially hated it when he went to ground grabbing his face like he had been shot.

so you are admitting that you don't like the guy for sporting reasons or purely out of preference for other players, but you are able to make an assessment over busquets's quality or world class status. insecure much on the internet brah? busquets memes were making you feel a lesser man in front of other unknowns on the internet brah?

not to mention you are picking examples as you see fit so that it suits your agenda. i can also come up with examples when busquets made great midfielders look like mugs.

Pique was never a top, top defender for any other team than Barcelona/Spain full of Barcelona players
I don't think he would ever play regularly for any other top club for too long
I'd still say he was the best CB in the world sometimes, he really did some spectacular stuff, and he was the perfect fit for the best team ever.

If he was bad after 6months away I wouldn't be too hard on him. He said exactly what was needed to change, but you saw the response from Griezmann...

are some of them mistakes?

clearance in front of goal that went to mbappe - avoided ball going to icardi and avoided scoring an own goal. dest was a spectator that failed to react. where is pique's fault?


frist goal(pass from veratti to mbappe) - the ball swerved on the outside and away from him. maybe if he would have thrown himself at it... anyway, nobody in midfield tracked veratti. frenkie was too late there. 50-50 on this one as i don't understand if he had time to react or was too slow to reach it.

'pique can't organize a defense' - that psg chance was created by pedri losing the ball in midfield(i remember because it was him that eventually cleared the ball) so our defense barely had time to position itself. none the less, dest goes to center there instead of holding his position. what should pique have done in those few seconds when psg broke on the counter from pedri's mistake? take dest to school of defending?

otherwise, yeah he had a poor game. but so too all our team. singling him out as the reason for our downfall on tuesday is stupid.

Yep, these are not really mistakes. The one where he leaves the shot between his legs is bad, but MAtS was able to make a great save, so ok!
That one where the moron who made the video faulted Pique for not being able to organize a defence is really too stupid to even...

He had a 100% pass rate, so no matter what anyone says, he can't have been totally awful on the ball.
And here is someone putting up a video trying to show he was terrible, but I can't see too many faults.
Surely he must've made a lot of mistakes that I didn't catch live, as everyone says he was not only poor but worse than that.
But based on that video I can't blame him for anything. He also said the right thing at 1-1, exactly what was needed, but his team mates respond in that way...

I am not the one to usually get too emotionally invested, but damn it is a pretty sad sight to see him on the bench after that game, knowing also how Barcelona fans react, mostly blaming him.
And Griezmann feeling happy for mBappe afterwards...

I don't know if it is coincidence or design, but the tempo of the play has returned to lethargy since Pique returned to the 11.

Ever since he came back from the injury, he's been acting like he's a saint and the rest of the players are sinners. Another moment caught on camera after the Cadiz goal acting like a bitch.

Definitely slower... he is another older players that slows down game to his pace. He Busi and Messi do it all the time.

Takes 4/5 touches every time gets the ball trying to find some 'world cup' pass up the park.. then eventually passes into into midfield which can go nowhere as opposing team back in shape.

PSG left Pique, Lenglet and Busi on ball all game in Barcelona to slow it down then pounce once tried to play it into a midfield they had the numbers in.
