Gerardo "Tata" Martino

Tata is just a scapegoat. No pre season, no signings, no stability. No defence, no bench. Constant turmoil on the administrative level and a team that cannot motivate itself even for the big games. You could bring in any manager in the world today and the result would be the same.

Lucho would be Tito mark 2. We need a manager with personality, the balls to confront our big stars and the press. We need someone who understands that teams are built from the back and defence is NOt an afterhought.

What happened last night was that Simeone isolated probably the three most important players for Barca's play effectively putting a stop to our buildup. He marked all of Busi,Iniesta and Messi out of the game and most importantly Busi is the linchpin of our midfield you take him out and the whole midfield falls like a house of cards. With Xavi in is twilight maybe we might consider going for a attack minded DM like Yaya to play double pivot with Busi and Iniesta or Cesc playing the lone AM up front

What happened last night was that a the team who knew what they wanted and how to get it outperformed a team that had no clue how to react if the game didn't go their way.
I don't blame the players and a huge example is Villa.Last year he couldn't run and he has been one of AM's best players.I don't like Cesc but there is no way if somehow we offered him to AM Simeone wouldn't accept or couldn't make the best of him..

We need big changes but I'm not sue exactly where to start. Problems from the top all the way down to the pitch. Don't expect a CL for a few years at this rate. We can hope, for domestic titles in the meantime.

As for cesc he is a great player when used right eg Spanish national team.

He is a player who goes MIA in big games. He's an EPL type who is totally unsuited for Barca. Cesc was an emotional buy-nothing else. We had Thiago who was the future.

All this is coming back to bite us.

I don't know which post match comment was worse. The one where he said he didn't want Messi to be as involved as usual or the one where he said we played like Barça did for the last couple of years.

“We weren’t interested in how he [messi] participated, but rather that he was winning the one on ones down the right flank. That’s why we looked for Cesc as the false nine."

wtf is he talking about. messi didn't win shit on the flank and any time he was in the box dani alves was crossing the ball to juanfran. i thought we evolved past messi on the flank like his some matt jarvis. this man scores goals. put him near the goal.

"The good thing is that at least with 40 days to go, we’ve reached a point where we’ve had options in all three competitions"

small club mentality manager coupled with some of the best players ever. can't believe some of you are putting the blame on the players, they are only a reflection of their uninterested manager

get this man out of here. this isn't the club to hire yes men so you don't have to spend (i'm looking at u board)

Hate to say it, but I agree.
Players are only ever as good as the manager who is in charge of them. We desperately need a new manager who wants us to play the old Tika Taka style, rather than try and change things by introducing different shapes, playing 4-4-2, playing direct and crossing the ball at every opportunity.

The critical mistake from yesterdays game was the fact that we started with ineista, fabregas and xavi together. The reason I hate seeing messi on the wing is not because he is less likely to score goals, it is because when he is on the wing, he doesn't really go wide and give the team width, for all intensive purposes he was still playing false nine yesterday, just with an extra midfielder next to him. players like Messi , xavi and iniesta need space, that doesn't exist when we don't have wide players stretching out the defence.

I hope he gets sacked if we play the same formation again.

I've stood by Martino but his decisions made and comments on the performance last night have made me really doubt his future at the club.

Lucho has personality.
I dont think he'd be tito 2.

Tata played atletico multiple times, and couldn't figure out a way to win against them... That says a lot.

Selling Deco and Ronaldinho was one of the best decisions Pep and previous board made. I don't feel anything like that would be allowed to happen this time.

Not selling Messi obviously, but ruffle some feathers.

How can anyone even bring up a thought of selling Messi? He is a legend of the club, only an idiot would want him gone.
