A club other than PSG won a league championship only two seasons ago. A club other than Juventus hasn't won Serie A in over 7 seasons. Therefore Ligue 1 is more competitive than Serie A.

That's the problem with uninformed arguments. They're full of holes.

You have no argument because, by your own admission, you have no basis for what you're talking about.

Back to simple stats  anomalies are evened out when looking at stats over the last 5 seasons.. that’s why we don’t pick one season out by itself like you suggested and that’s why over that period PSG have won their titles easier despite Juve winning one more.

My basis is league stats.. you questioning them is hilarious. Like watching a league tells a clearer story of the league than the league stats. Man you must have no free time at all watching every Ligue 1 game

Monaco winning a league title is more competitive than Napoli failing to win. Simple fact.

Your basis is nothing, because you're arguing out of ignorance, by your own admission.

A player that couldn't make it on the pitch for PSG bossed La Liga last season. That player was Guedes. Kondogbia was sold by Monaco because he was in the way of Bakayoko, he then failed at Inter, before falling to Valencia and becoming one of their strongest players. Etc.

Can we stop with the bad arguments?

That's a bit disingenuous. Both of those are examples of young players developing over time, who hadn't previously broken out until they got to Valencia. You're really flaming a 20 year old at the time for not breaking into PSG's lineup? Kondogbia wasn't even bad for Inter, had some good seasons early on where he was rated well.

The difference is I'm talking about players in their prime or after their prime who show clearly abnormal peaks once they get into Ligue 1. I mentioned Neymar and Zlatan but it doesn't even come close to ending there.

Di Maria was shocking for United and has been for Argentina for a while but became a key player for PSG. Falcao tore his ACL and looked finished and then went on to be great for Monaco. I can easily include guys like Balotelli, Thiago Motta, Luiz Gustavo, Alves who is a beast in Ligue 1 moreso than he was in Serie A, etc.

I'll even say that about Depay because, even though he's young, he already broke out big time at PSV and then clearly flopped at United before becoming incredible for Lyon and dominating the league statistically.

It's a much bigger pattern than the reverse cases.

Serie A

17/18: 4
16/17: 14
15/16: 9
14/15: 17
13/14: 17

Avg: 12.2

Ligue 1

17/18: 13
16/17: -8
15/16: 21
14/15: 8
13/14: 9

Avg: 8.6

You've laid out three different criteria by which you grade a league over the last few pages. Ligue 1 comes out favorably in comparison to Serie A and Bundesliga according to all of them. How much longer will we have to suffer you terrible, uninformed arguments?

Guedes broke out at Benfica.

You're really flaming a 20 year old at the time for not breaking into PSG's lineup?

Kylian Mbappé made the lineup at 18 after only 6 months of professional football.

Kondogbia wasn't even bad for Inter, had some good seasons early on where he was rated well.

He was bad enough to be shipped out shortly after purchase.

The difference is I'm talking about players in their prime or after their prime who show clearly abnormal peaks once they get into Ligue 1. I mentioned Neymar and Zlatan but it doesn't even come close to ending there.

The difference is most of you don't actually watch or follow Ligue 1. Your arguments therefore come out of ignorance, rather than from experience. Leaving them full of easy identifiable holes such has been the case with Vilarrubi over the last few pages.

Di Maria was shocking for United and has been for Argentina for a while but became a key player for PSG.

Di María won the champions league prior to United.

Falcao tore his ACL and looked finished and then went on to be great for Monaco.

Falcao dominated Spain before moving to the EPL. ACL injuries haven't been career ending for over 20 years.

I can easily include guys like Balotelli, Thiago Motta, Luiz Gustavo, Alves who is a beast in Ligue 1 moreso than he was in Serie A, etc.

All good players before moving to France.

I'll even say that about Depay because, even though he's young, he already broke out big time at PSV and then clearly flopped at United before becoming incredible for Lyon and dominating the league statistically.

Guess that means Ligue 1 is better than the EPL since Kanté moved from the second division in France to dominating the EPL in only three seasons. Lead Leicester City to an historic league title and even won EPL player of the year.

You misunderstood my point. I didn't say any of them were bad players.... The ones that were 'bad' immediately prior to coming to Ligue 1 were mostly way past their peak, and then suddenly jumped up again in Ligue 1 (but coincidentally, only in Ligue 1 and not the other comps they've played).

This applies to Di Maria, Falcao, Motta who wasn't even really a starter at Inter then starred at PSG for several seasons, and Gustavo who wasn't good for Wolfsburg compared to Bayern and then Marseille. Alves wasn't bad for Juve but by all accounts he wasn't that good in Serie A (especially defensively) and just stepped it up big time in some CL games, then subsequently been a lot better in Ligue 1.

Balotelli is a different case where he was never able to settle into a key role for any team and had shown very little after his initial impressive days at City, but has suddenly been a consistently great talisman for Nice.

Kante didn't break out until Leicester, whereas Depay broke out before at PSV as one of the best young wing prospects in Europe and then clearly failed at United before doing a total 180 in Ligue 1.

Even accounting for my errors, Ligue 1 is as competitive as Serie A according to your logic.

I'm sorry, but this argument is garbage. You can look all over Europe to find players failing for one club, before succeeding at another, without it having anything to do with the competitiveness of the league they left. Especially when you consider just how many players have left France to dominate outside of it. If they league were entirely uncompetitive, when players like Kanté moved to the EPL, they'd be out of their depth.

Jair Ventura - Fakes stats

My reputation is fine. I made a mistake and owned it. Wasn't the first time, won't be the last.

You're responding like a child because you know your arguments are bad, and you know you've been made to look a fool in this thread. As I said, even accounting for my fake stats, Ligue 1 is as competitive as Serie A according to your own logic. But you'd rather not acknowledge that because you know what it means.
