Gini Wijnaldum

Not sweating over it but he definitely would have been useful for next season. PSG has so many players who already fit that mould. Not sure why they would need another. Seems they're more interested in fucking us over.

It is a free transfer. Nothing about fucking Bar?a over. PSG have been interested in all "highly rated" free agents since Neymar/Mbapp? deal. They tried Alaba this year and they'll probably try for Depay too.

There's other midfielders with one year left that are interesting. Obviously will cost some and won't come for free like Gini, but might get more out of them with their ages too.

Guys like Sabitzer and Kessie. Aouar possibly available for around 20-25m too. Different profiles than Wijnaldum but some guys who could improve the team.

Not bad news at all, we could use his wage money on possibly offering more to Ilaix to tie him down and even on a defender like Gaya or a CB.

Again, we wouldn't have gone after him if he wasn't free. The club did the right thing to not match PSG's wage offer.

If Wijnaldum wanted to sign for Barca he would have signed for Barca regardless of the club taking their time to confirm Koeman or finalizing the transfer. His agents were in Barcelona last week anyway and reached an agreement with a medical pending.

If Depay goes the same way then we're a joke. Bringing the player Messi wants for attack ahead of the player the manager wants for the attack  .

Aguero and Garcia accepted our own terms, Gini and Depay didn't.
Club has been dealing with those FA as "our way or the highway " and considering our finances; can you blame them?

That is not what happened.

WIjnaldum had agreed terms by all accounts but they fucked around for too long and were gazumped by PSG.

For Depay leaving open to same thing happening when terms look like being agreed.

The issue is not about refusing to offer more or match PSG it is the uncertainty on coaches and time taken to get the deals done.

Exactly. Terms have reportedly been agreed 3 times. Last summer, this January and now this summer with a reduced wage offer.

Concluding the deals has been delayed because of the pending manager situation and feeling other deals priority ahead of Depay and Wijn also.

I personally think that there is a separation between the priorities of the sporting departments (so Alemany/Laporta) and Koeman. Hence the two signings which were concluded and the two that are still pending. Logically Depay and Wijnaldum are more beneficial for Koeman/Schuster which should have been priority.

Hence also looking for other managers and hoping Koeman would step down out of good will.

Lastly with Wijnaldum. It is not a huge loss that he doesn't sign, but it would have been nice. What I will add is that if we have agreements signed pending medical, then we need to put fines for the player (eg 5m) if he decides to back out because a higher offer is received.

How did we fuck around ? We agreed deal pending medicals that wasn't granted by NT, Koeman future became certain and suddenly Gini comes with an offer to double salary, how is that on the club?

We never agreed terms with Depay either, our offer has been unfair to him from start and he has been hesitant. 2 or 3 years on low wage for 27 years old player isn't that much.
And again, there is no uncertainty on coach atm, why didn't he agreed terms after

If we agreed a deal pending medical then PSG wouldn't be able to trumph us with a higher offer.

With Depay, we can only go by media reports saying we had agreed deal pending on Koeman situation. Which was not ratified until a few days back. We have to see how it concludes now. Again if someone comes in with a higher offer it means a) nothing was signed and b) we were too slow to conclude when everything was agreed.

Same with Yan Couto last year. Too slow to close.

As I said had months to do deal and didnt and have been caught by PSG offer.

Fantasy to think this is Barca just holding firm and refusing to deal with offers other clubs can offer. Could have been tied up weeks/months ago when terms agreed and not waiting until Wijnaldum on intl duty.

It is on the club for not getting deal done sooner. Simple.

Reports say deal agreed with Depay and him to sign for lower than been offered elswhere so far and 'hope to sign deal next week'.

Same situation again.

There has been uncertainty over coach for weeks/months until Laporta couldnt get him to leave for free last week... by which time Depay and Wijnaldum with NL and cant get medical done.

They absolutely can since he hasn't signed his contract, which is usually done after medicals or during announcement.

Not if there is a written agreement pending medical being passed.

The same way players can sign pre-contracts 6 months before a contract expires. They are not taking a medical with the new club while under contract with the existing club are they?
