We are going to have to get that possession and pass stats up though. Ie, more control.

This game was an incredible night, a turning point. But those Raphinha master finishes are not going to be regular.

But to go out and outwork Bayern is a huge achievement by Flick.
I agree with that. But not by much. If we play as direct as we do, I think 50-50 posession against elite opponents is OK, if we produce chances at industrial rate. The thing is, that when we have the ball, we always try to do something. Era of back and sidepassing is gone.

If we have this kind of posession against a midtable La Liga team, then I would be worried.

Was certain if he went for it and didn't make the resting subs we would have had 5 or 6. And to be honest I wanted 5 or 6.

5 or 6 would have exercised the ghost of 8 2 fully but the ghost is still sticking around like Patrick Swayze on Demi Moore whilst she is doing pottery.

Bit pedantic but wasn't the pottery scene while he was still alive? Might be wrong, decades since I have seen Ghost.

Yep, this is the missing piece of his work here, last piece of the puzzle so to speak.

Hansi Flick:
"The match was great. The team was able to recover after a bad spell. We have a young team with a lot of potential."
"Today's performance gives us confidence to face the Clásico."
"It's incredible. Bayern are a great team... When you win games like this, you have to celebrate, and it's great for the team."
"Casadó has been incredible."
"We are two teams with similar philosophies. We started very well, then we lost it and then we recovered very well. It was very important to win this match."
"A title contender? It's too early to say that because the season has only just started. We have to take it game by game and although we are proud of the game, this continues and on Saturday there is another one against a rival that everyone knows."
"I'm very happy to be here in Barcelona."
"We have players with enormous footballing quality and today the team has shown that we're ready for these challenges.
"We have also got players like Olmo, De Jong and Gavi back and they have shown that they are also ready to help. We have a very good selection of players and I think we can still improve further."
"Raphinha is a very good example of how the team works. He gives his all in training and in matches. He offers a lot of intensity and pressure... He scores goals and has excellent dynamics on the ball."
"Pedri has a lot of quality, he's a great player, he has the ambition to win games and he also makes everything very easy, so much so that it's a pleasure to watch him play."
"We have fun playing football and it shows. I have said many times what I feel about La Masia, and that is an understatement."

He seems a good guy and is a very good coach. Hope he can keep this going. I am sure he can with the right preparation and hard work - he seems very professional and serious about his job.

I voted neutral because I wasn't sure either way, but the guy is doing excellently. Long may it continue.
