Xavi was done. Cooked. Capiche. Exterminated. Assad'ed.

Flick having a wobble doesn't change that. You only need to see the press conference of Xavi to know that he had reached the end of the project. And realising that doesn't mean that I or you ignore the good work Xavi done for the club either.

Now back to Flick, Beat Atleti, get through winter and reset for the new year.

If we beat Atleti then there is one obvious point. It is a better base to work from beating Madrid, Bayern, Dortmund away and Atletico but dropping points to shitters than the other way round. 100%.

One suggests you are not at the level, the other suggests you have the level but have not kept the consistency.

We would definitely have more points.

He was turning it around towards the end of last season, he would probably have bought a Mobile 9 or a DM and improved from last season.

But things got too toxic at the end so I believe he had to leave.

Still support flick, I'm just enjoying the brain trust being wrong for the 100th time.

Imagine if Xavi won 1 of his last 6 games, what they would be saying, we don't have to imagine it, it's all in the Xavi trend.

But let's hope flick can figure this shit out.

We will not win the league by outscoring everyone 4-0, it's entertaining but not sustainable.

The irony is that the new Champions League football helps Xavi not to flop in the group stage. Real Madrid, City and PSG sit low in the table so after losing to Monaco, Bayern and Dortmund, we would still be good to qualify.

We would definitely not lose to all 3 lol.

New meta. Hire and fire 3 coaches a season.

Each deploy their strategies and when they get figured out you fire them and replace with another.

Flick dominates until November cool. Fired

Returned Xavi comes in and wins Supercup. Fired

Pep signed from Man City wins UCL and League but loses Copa Del Rey Final. Fired

You don't win a league by beating A.M and madrid.

You win it by not losing at home to las Palmas and Leganes.

We aren't talking about being at a level to beat top teams, we did that under Xavi too, to the shock and horror of many here.

You don't win a league by losing to 3 teams that are basically all in the bottom half of the table, almost back.

Beat A.M & Madrid lose those 3 games, thats just +3 points.

I remember a fair few bad teams drawing or beating us last year though. We just need to be winning games. Good teams or bad. 1 win in 6 is unheard of in La Liga

On the other hand if we beat Madrid last season we would have won the league. Those games are 6 point swings and not just 3 points.

Which is my point. Sitting where we are today it is easier to solve not beating the bottom teams to not beating the top teams.

Of course after 38 games we won't win the league if we continue on this course.

Yea that's my point, last year was shit and we are basically at the same point this year.

We haven't improved in games we should be winning.

Yes, provided we take 9 points from the remaining 3 games with Madrid and Atletico we can still win it despite losing more points vs weaker sides.

2-3 more losses like Leganes and Palmas and we're done in the league though.

You can't win La Liga with 7 fecking losses to midtable or bottom table teams.

Anyway, Flick is doing a great job in CL. Surely that is a huge part of the season. We'll see how it unfolds. We have good options in the league also but we've basically wasted 80% of our margin for lost points already and it's not even half season yet.

If we beat big teams in CL for me it's worth it to give Flick one season of adapting to La Liga intricacies, with far more pressure to win the title next year. By which time losing points vs likes of Leganes at home, would be sealing the end of his time here.

People expect progress to be linear, but with a club having the multiple problems we do, this is more a dream than a real possibility. We are looking like improving vs bigger teams this season and it is very important for Flick to at least keep this edge and build on it, if the league consistency goes to shite.
