Xavi was a mess and had lost control of what his ideas even were.

Barca would be nowhere near it.
And still managed more points (a better average) than Flick so far. That's what it boils down to. If he was mentally out of it is not for us to say or know.

Very good on getting some points towards end of season when league done and out of cup early again and out Europe fairly early again.

If finish second and out of title race early it is largely irrelevant by how much.

A year ago Barca were scudded by Real for third time, heading out cup and trying to keep pace with Girona.

Xavi had lost the plot and came across as unwell half the time.

I'm not sure if jamrock and mclovin would agree with me on this one. But I would never trade a fluke league win with disgusting and boring football that embarrasses us in every competition other than La Liga, for beautiful free flowing football that fights on every front and convinces me we will be back to what we used to be in the long run. In the simplest words, I would not trade a trophyless season under Flick for a fluke league win with UCL and Copa del Rey embarrassments and shit football throughout the season - might be a little weird, maybe.

Also it's getting boring watch you guys speak of what would have and could have been when Xavi had 2 and a half seasons to prove himself and he didn't. Now that he left suddenly all the players are better, what a fucking coincidence.

Can spin it the same way Flick apologists do right now: we should have won all games vs Real last season in the League. We were clearly the better team.

Haha.. no Barca were not clearly the better team v Real last season and collapsed defensively both times.

Barca lost 3 times to Real and not long after worst home defeat to them in decades... the previous time met.

Please
Flick didn't just improve Raphinha and Yamal. He milked 25 goals out of Robert fucking Lewandowski. He made previously deemed finished Inigo Martinez the cornerstone of his defence. Promoted Casado. Put Peña on the goal and made him perform better than anybody believed he could.

It's in the approach managers have with players. No footballer playing for Barcelona is shit, it makes no sense. There is a reason some play here and some play in amateur leagues. Flick has got the most out of every player in this squad. He believes in them. Xavi, on the other hand, openly declared he doesn't.

League title with underwhelming football bailed out by individual moments of brilliance - I call it fluke, maybe not the perfect word but whatever. I said before I have a lot of respect for his league title but such achievements are short-term. We need to see Barça actually improve and step up, get closer to what it was before - not just in terms of trophies, also in terms of football.

Yep he's getting added, I like you as a poster, but that's just a absolutely and totally shit take.

We won a league title with about 4/5 match days left, our first in about 4 years as a fluke?.

Do people really believe Xavi could have continued considering how toxic the situation had become? He didn't only have problems with Laporta/Deco, but he was also constantly shitting on the players he had available and whining about how they could not be competitive vs. better teams due to the players not being good enough.

He had no chance to continue at Barca unless Laporta resigned and half the squad was replaced according to his liking.

Dude compare that 22/23 win to any league title before it, 18/19, 17/18, whatever you want and you'll see what I'm talking about. I said fluke might not be a perfect word but it's not one in which we expressed dominance or any form of outstanding football, that's the point.
