Bayern did the same in the first half. Also to great effect. Stay onside wide because even if the position is not dangerous per se for the player on the ball, any cutback to a player that was previously in offside will not be offside anymore.

Yeah it is what the top teams will try and do. They will try and use that initial offside jump against Barca and ping it wide to player in space to try and get in behind with the next ball.

Issue is there is not much stopping it except constant pressure in midfield. When that drops and the other team has time to spot and execute the diagonal... it's trouble.

Kounde was trying to create an offside trap. Wrong decision - you have to correctly assess the episode when an offside trap is worth creating.

Kounde also slipped in that goal.

They did it at start of game to win that corner scored from I believe.. also when Griezmann missed his chance at start of 2nd half and others than didnt quite get final ball away but got into positions they wanted.

Never said 'all goals' came from it..

He shouldn't have subbed in Gavi and Fermin agaisnt Atletico. These two cant retain possesion.
On top Lewa doesnt help with pressing either, so you lose any semblence of control on the pitch. This is while you took out Pedri.
