Es ist endlich so weit: Präsident Joan Laporta hat in einem am Dienstagabend veröffentlichten Interview mit der vereinseigenen TV-Plattform erstmals die Entlassung von Xavi erklärt. Der Präsident des FC Barcelona äußerte sich zudem zuversichtlich zu Hansi Flick als neuem Cheftrainer.

Laporta says again that the reason for Xavi-exit was that he didnt trust the team as much as Laporta wanted.

Also Fatporta said Flick knows what he expects from him...

Xavi was given so much leeway. By the board , the media and the local fans.
Flick won't be cut that much slack, if any.
Funny how some people are so dead set against him and he's not even taken one training session 🙄

For comparison sake it would be great if we couldn't sign anyone so we can see if Hansi can do better with the same team as Xavi. I'd say no. Now if he can get a good DM he'll already have a big advantage over Xavi who had to play Christensen there. And obviously he'll get back Balde and Gavi.

In 2024, Barca have hardly created anything for RL9. His clown low IQ teammates keep ignoring the clever little runs he makes. Only Gundogan notices those runs. Any player would be frustrated if his teammates constantly misses out on the important movements he makes.


Flick will build the system around RL9 so that he gets the service he deserves and his teammates get more space to do the damage.


Xavi's system was so static and slow on the ball that opponents didn't even have to move out of position to defend Barca.

On one hand he talks about attacking and Barca DNA and on the other he throws defenders on to maintain a 1 nil lead. He was clueless and it showed. If anything we we will see a more attacking Barca with more goals scored than under Xavi.

You game plan is not better if you are going to achieve the exact same thing !

A DM would elevate the team to a new level. We saw how good we looked with old busquets.

That is asked of Flick, to prove that coaching is the main thing that is needed to get this squad to achieve big things consistently. He is gonna get a fair chance. At the moment he is undefeated as Barca manager.

Let's see him get a league title at Barcelona and then he can compare to Xavi. He is gonna get instant support if he does it. Everyone is gonna love him if the team gets the title back from Madrid like Xavi did in 2023.

One step at a time, if he delivers fans are gonna be on his side. Most of them at least.

True, easiest path to elevate this squad is get a proper DM. By far the most neuralgic position. And stop the individual blunders in defense obviously, that goes without saying.

More important signing than Flick
