9 games and 28 goals in ll, just hansi things! @Birdy @Rassvet
1) 3.11 goals per game so far.
Best in Europe I reckon, knowing City Arsenal and others are 2.5 per game or so, thus far.

But I wrote a post recently predicting that he can even drive this number up to 3.5 per game, which will be unbelievable

Best team in the world in the offside trap right now.
Will not catch every through ball, and will get some 1v1s that will likely become goals.
But the pros vastly outweigh the cons

The man is indeed cooking...

BTW:

1) Punishing Kounde for not coming in time for the pre-match talk, and starting Fort instead.

2) Punishing Lamine for trying to show off, and subbing him out immediately

THAT's the kind of LEADERSHIP this team needs!
Not yes-men like Valverde, not someone treating players like pets that need dinner-rewards and days off like Xavi

MY MANAGER!

🤣 crazy.

Sign of a well drilled team indeed.
There will be days when that offside trap isn't working. Hopefully that doesn't happen in the big matches.
We have a very high ceiling. I want to see how we look when we have all ormost of our players back. This squad has room to grow.

I have doubts about using a high line and offside trap against seasoned attackers that know how to position themselves in order to speculate it.

But La Liga is the most important objective for us atm. And it's been great so far.

Feels like with Flick, Barca has finally arrived in this century, playing modern attacking football, without losing its core values that come from la masia. I won't mention any dna, because in time I got allergic to that term...but that's how I imagined us playing in this super athletic and fast paced era of football.

Offside trap is doing wonders so far. I actually think it's very impressive how successful it is because it's not easy. On paper as an opponent it should be simple to just spam through balls over the top but we see time and time again players getting caught running too early.

High line isn't only about the defence but also midfielders/attackers suffocating the opponent. There should be a golden opportunity each time for the opps to hit the ball but that window is so narrow due to our midfielders closing them down in time.

Madrid and Bayern will of course have studied this and I doubt Hansi will change something that's working just because we face big teams. Their timings will be better and they will be better at finding the right space with their passing compared to previous opponents. It could be suicidal if it's not working.

VAR/semi-automated offsides made this style of offside trap work well with confidence. Imagine how many borderline calls to continue play would result in goals conceded for us without it

Exactly what I was thinking. Imagine all those close calls a decade or few years ago.
