Yea he was over performing his resources at the start of the season, now we are back to right about where we should be given the sqaud we have.

It just sucks that it's been a 8 points swing in 3 games and two of those games are definitely not him, 3/4 games we've drop points in the league is on him, we give him a pass because he's a new manager, with a injury filled sqaud and he's playing good football, but this is Barcelona he's on thin Ice.

The players are tired and his system can't work with tired players, to add to the injuries. coaches are also starting to figure out his tactics, which many of us on here said would eventually happen, this is la Liga, the league has the best coaches in Europe top to bottom.

Now we are in a dog fight for the title with A.M and Madrid, let's see if the players are up for it, he's done a very good job so far, but you learn about a manager and players when shit starts hitting the fan.

Maybe, that's to be expected in a long range, 10 round or more box event? Keep up the style...believe in it. I mean, a few punches on the chest, few more on the liver, then you're on the floor being counted, so what?! You get up and do to the opponent the same what he just did to you. A sinusoidal performance with a happy end.
If I'm Flick, I tell'em; get up, get up, fight on, we're good.

Sure. It's a lose battles but win the war type of thing. Few people expect to walk the league like in 2022-23 and win it by 10 point difference 4 rounds in advance. That was am exceptional league season where we won something crazy like 2.5+ points per game.

It’s too early to tell how the team will evolve under Flick. A dip in form happens under the best of managers, including Pep and Simeone. Remember how AM were struggling a few weeks back? They’ve now bounced back with two landslide wins in two consecutive games. That is what will be important: how the manager reacts when results aren’t on par with expectations.

It’s also true that our bench is inadequate, but this would be true for any manager here at Barca. It’s not an excuse, as the manager will have to make adjustments to how we play to counter this, but it’s also true that fatigue will hit our gala 11 if Flick doesn’t adapt his style of play to account for this.

When Flick does well, Barca does well. That’s what matters. Too early to panic. Let’s hope he turns it around or else…. A German outsider will get eaten up alive by the Catalan press.

I wonder if Laporta has criticized Flick for his direct football, as we are less direct now than we were in our first 10 games or so. It’s like hiring an Italian chef and asking him to prepare French dishes. What’s the point? Let the manager do his job with zero interference.

Also, I could see the German mentality being a problem in Spain. FYI I admire the German work ethic a lot, but culture does play a role in leadership. Imagine a Scandinavian leader in Russia? Well, same thing here.

Anyhow, fucking turn it around.

Was it only Arsenal under Wenger's debut to win the PL title without a single loss?

But that was more of a probability fluke than anything else. Most of the time, there are highs and lows for the best of the best.

And I guess, you're right about underestimating La Liga level of competition as opposed to other leagues.
Looking back at the last 10-20 years, Spanish leage clubs were highly advanced in all kinds of European competitions. Not only trophies, but also, they were ubiquitous in advanced stages of UCL, Europel Ligue. And we're talking not only 2 or 3 notable clubs, but there were at least 4 or 6 more, slightly less accomplished.

I mean, to me, UCL, formerly known as European Champions Cup, was always the second best trophy after the World Cup.
Even at the expense of winning the title of 'any' league in the World.

But I guess, for someone who is deeply rooted in the realm of a specific leage...I think here mostly English, and now, I do realize it is Spanish league too, the order of prestige or a trophy honor, could be much different.

For instance in England, as I was once assured by a Manchester United nut, the FA Cup is also a big deal, worthy to die for, as he put it. Whereas in Spain, or this forum at least, the equivalent of it is seldomly spoken about.

People really need to calm down. Did really someone expect that this season will be a walk in a park with basically the same squad we had last year? We need to stay positive but humble. Additionally, we had many injuries with Bernal and Mats out for the rest of the season. Those who came back are visibly out of form and others are drained out.

I am sure we will bounce back but people need to learn to be patient! We have the youngest team in the league that will probably peak in two or three years. Howewer, we will also need to strengthen this team further to be able to compete for trophies. We lack depth in many areas. We don't have adequate backups for our starting wingers, fullbacks and Lewa. Furthermore, 2 out of our 4 centre backs are injured from the start of the season. All of this is the reason our intensity dropped.

I think Flicks success or lack of it will be a crucial factor in the clubs future .
If Flick doesn't succeed you just know Laporta and the board will go in-house again looking for another Barca DNA manager.
If he does have some success, at least the board will be open minded about hiring the best man for the job.

IMO it's good that we hit this crisis in late November. Usually we hit those in March/April. If we bounce back relatively quickly I think this might benefit us.

Next 2 games are crucial. We have the whole attack and midfield healthy. Get back to work. I want 2 statement wins to build confidence.

Flick is doing a great job. He overachieved massively during his first 3 months here. Unfortunately, injuries and the lack of depth costed us in November. Howewer, I am sure we will bounce back. In addition to all of that we will probably need to continue playing in Montjuic until the end of the season. That's also something that doesn't help at all.
