Hansi Flick - how do we rate him?

Basically all you are saying is this is a risky system. Nothing new, we knew it way before Flick even arrived at this club. So far, the risky system delivers so I don't see why it would need any adjustments. We already won few games in the league with our attack being atrocious, so I have little worries there.

There are already signs that adjustments are needed. It is important for Flick to make them because this is the main problem about his football. Too much risk when it's not really needed.

A bit of safety? The defense is midtable in terms of conceding chances most likely, probably as worse as some of the bottom table clubs. It's a lot of defensive safety, not a little.

What does "we should have done better" mean? Defensive players will always make errors when put under the pressure of a system that is designed for the benefit of the attacking players.

There are only two real options here to tackle the issues. Switch the tactics (and before anyone jumps at it, no, it doesn't mean anything close to playing defensive), or continue on the same line and hope the attack is gonna deliver 4-5 goals regularly. We basically demand perfection from the defensive line as it is.

Vs Atletico, in 2 games, there weren't any huge blunders imo. You can't seriously think Kounde slipping 40m away from goal in a wide position is a huge blunder. In itself, it is not, it is something that happens and will continue to happen. Only the tactics make it huge. That's Flick ball. Huge risk in defence where any little error can immediately lead to a conceded big chance and a goal.

Yo chill dude now youre overracting, you forgot the matches where it worked very well, against Real in 2 matches + Bayern weve conceded only 3 goals.

Not saying Hansi's high line isnt more risky than parking the bus but so far the output overweights the risks, i mean look at the guys here, people dreaming from treble, when was the last time we could dream from that??

Im sure we will fix the defence 'problem' soon

Any team can score against Flick's Barca. Even a 3rd division team. That's because all you have to do is play a ball over the top into the vacant 40 percent of the pitch that we leave for the opposing team to play with. Then you just need a pacy player to outrun our defenders, which is fairly simple as they have a headstart as they don't need to turn 180 degrees before they run.

That's why you have La Liga shitters scoring 3s and 4s against us and nobody else. Cart horses like Pavlidis probably wish they could play us every week.

How people don't see this as a massive problem is beyond me. I wouldn't have any problem whatsoever if we conceded 4 goals and the opposition actually did something creative or class to score. But the fact is is that the opposition literally do fuck all in an attacking sense and end up banging in 3 or 4 goals.

We make it needlessly easy for them. And it doesn't have to be this way to maintain our attacking potency in the slightest. That is a massive myth as well.

I said it in one of my previous posts; beating Flick's high line is significantly easier in theory than in practice. This hoof the ball over defence, run and don't be offside thing doesn't work all the time in reality. In order to get in the position of breaking his line at the first place, you need to escape madman pressing which is not what every team can do. And even if you score, you need to endure the immense offensive danger his team constantly dictates - this is what Atletico, among many, failed to do even after scoring 2 goals so early.

It's a risky system. We all know we are vulnerable defensively. But offensively this is one of the best seasons in club history and it has so far brought us a lot of good on a lot of fronts.

It seems to be going well.

I quite like Benfica and I have a friend from Lisbon who supports them, so not really arsed either way who wins the CL tie (though I guess I hope you guys since I post on here). I will probably watch those games. The 5-4 was staggeringly entertaining the other month.

Real Madrid are there for the taking in La Liga - I truly believe that. They're really not that good - they just scrape their way through with individual genius here and there, and when that deserts them they lose. Just need to keep winning. I would say Atletico are a bigger threat.

6 in a row in the league, great performance but one thing I will probably never understand... Why the fuck does Lamine have to play every minute?? For those saying Flick does it for his ego, he has proven multiple times not to be a spineless fraud who can't decide for himself with authority so I doubt that is the case. But then what is it?

"It's the style we want to play. Our first thought is always about the offence. We want to pass always. We are attacking well, everyone is hungry to score goals," Flick told reporters.

"It's good to have this. Today we were in the right positions, it helps us a lot because we have a lot of chances to pass through the last line. We are happy, but more happy about three points than scoring many goals."

Flick also dispelled any doubts over the fitness of Gavi after the midfielder was left out of the lineup, saying: "We thought about starting with Gavi today, but yesterday he felt a little bit ill.

"He said yesterday he had a fever and we had to take care of that. It was not necessary to bring him in, so we started another player."

"There are a lot of things that helped us a lot today. The red card was one of those, but also how we played. We were very dominant after this red card and this is how we want to play," Flick said.

"Of course, the substitution was very important for us because they can rest a little bit more. This helps us a lot, but at the end, we will see.

"Benfica, they had one week to prepare for our match, so we have to be careful."

Highline and inchallah wont be viable if new rule is introduced officially next season. Many many of our successful offsides were due to part of the body being offside.
