Number of trophies is not the logic or criteria I use to describe Ben Arfa or anyone else as World Class.

Someone said he's 25 years old and asked what does he have to show for it? He has 5 Ligue 1 titles to show for it.

I remember when you called Carroll world class. Your opinion is void.

Edinson Cavani won only Coppa Italia and Copa America and he is world class. Mario Gomez won at least 4 titles and he can be compared with Messi or Ronaldo. The titles are not the most important thing.

Don't be silly. I lol'd at that comment though.

I have never ever once used the phrase 'World Class' to describe Andy Carroll.

Please open the andy carroll thread and select 'Search this thread' function, type in 'world class' and click search. You will find I have never said anything of the sort.

They both got rid because he was shit.

your Football knowledge is very limited.

They got rid because he fell out with several teammates(physical fights) and also had huge arguments with his managers.

Deschamps told him to find another club after a huge argument, but later changed his mind and wanted him stay at Marsielle. They were not going to sell him and told him he was going nowhere, but to get his move Newcastle he went on strike and claimed he was happy to go on strike for a whole season and miss a year of football if Marseille didn't let him move to Newcastle. Karma being a funny thing he actually missed 1 year and bit of football with a severely broken leg.

Marsielle were so reluctant to sell him that they only sanctioned him to move to Newcastle on loan with Newcastle paying loan fee of £2 million pounds, with Newcastle having the option to buy him if they paid an extra £5 million after he plays a certain number of games.

16 matches as a 19 year old? If he's as good as you say he was surely he'd of been in the team more than that? I'm not going to harp on but unless he was injured all season that says that his contribution was a bit void.

As it stands, current world class players (for me, at least)

Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, CR7, Thiago Silva, Iker, Zlatan, Ashley Cole etc etc Ben Arfa is nowhere near world class.

you really don't understand the fact that different players develop and different rates and reach their peak at different times.

Not every 19 year old BOY can be Pele.

Ah yes Chaban-Delmas. Dunno where I got Chamber from. I just moved in a few months ago so I still haven't visited everything. But honestly for a quick 1 week trip Bordeaux is nice but as a city to live in it's very average.
I've already been to Spain 4 times in the space of 3-4 months. I totally fell in love with the Basque country. Saw Bilbao in their historical win over Manchester United and let me tell you something those people KNOW how to celebrate a victory.

I remember the Milan vs Arsenal game I was at the bar watching the game and the french around me where like bring on Chamakh bring on Chamakh. I was really confused until I remembered he was a Bordeaux player a few years ago.

No I'm not the same UAE guy, not even from the UAE :) . Since last summer I like PSG in the ligue 1, that should give you a clue and my favorite Barca shirt is the 11/12 one :p

Completely forgot your reply.

Ah, sorry for that confusion. Qatari, that's cool too.

You need to visit those landmarks also which will give you another picture of the area. There are a lot of opportunities.

But still personally I prefer other parts of France (Provence, Paris, the Alp regions, Corsica, Loir Valley etc.) but Gascony is not a bad area at all if you get to know it. France is a very big country so there is a lot to see and the regions can be very different.

You have the Pyrenees, the Atlantic Ocean, Landes Forest, Biarritz (great beach and best area for surfers in Europe), Arette (great ski resort) and even the French Basque country etc. very close to Bordeaux. And then you have all the historical landmarks but whether you find them interesting obviously depends on your personal interests.

Yeah, Basques are great football fans and it's a interesting region.

Wow, that must have been great to watch. I remember it as a very good game.

Chamakh what to say?

Can't believe Malouda is starting over him, that wonder goal asside Malouda is shit this season. Nasri is playing out of position on that right wing, move Nasri to the middle play Ben Arfa on the right and watch what France can do with that 4-5-1 . In other news Mvilla is injured, it was sad to see him cry knowing he'd miss the euros :(
