He obviously got talent, and wtching those videos he got alot of quality, but also i hear that hes quite inconsistant, so what the various Barca trainers have to do is to coach him into beeing able to do it more often, and if theres any club that is good to "mold" quality players, its Barcelona.

Also noticed after hes scoring hes always doing the "im the best, look at me" kinda thing which i dont really like. Celebrating the goal as a team effort with your teammates is part of the spirit of Barca and is something he has to learn.

After thanking god he always celibrates with his teammates. It just got cut out of the compilation. ;)

yeah i don't judge players in terms of assists/ goals just curious

Its the first thing I look at as well. ;)

It varies because of his position. The closer you get him to the goal, the more he will score. When he played more offensive he scored 13 goals in the Dutch competition. Thats one more then what Cocu ever managed to do in one season, he got stuck on 12 goals. Van Bommel in his last year at PSV scored 14 times, which was his best year in terms of goals. His 2nd best is 9 goals also for PSV. For the last 1,5 season Afellay plays in front of the defense. Last year 4 goals in 29 matches, this year 6 goals in 19 matches.

His strength is to enable others to give the assist or to score goals. All attacks went through Afellay, after Cocu decided to end his career. Afellay made it possible for PSV to dominate a lot of games. He was the creative mind and architect of our game. So without the goals still a crucial role within a team. Xavi and Iniësta arent famous for scoring goals, but can Barca do without them?
I agree,

Let's end at a positive way, Afellay has the technique and the style to adept well. He's a very modest person and unlike the Ajax youth-products, lacks a certain arrogance and might even be called shy. He'll not come to Barcelona with the idea to be important instantly. He very well know that he has to work incredibly hard for his minutes. But, he's convinced enough that he knows that if he works incredibly hard, he has the talent to be a succes at the best club in the world

Improvin' Perfection!!
Just in financial terms what a shrewd move the club has made... Buy him for 3m and he's already valued at 10m!! A decent level of adaptation and that would increase even further :)

I remember Pep saying "There cannot be players who aren't Barca quality. With proper efforts and guidance every body can turn out to be a success here." So it ultimately boils down to just how far Ibi impresses Pep in the training grounds and he would take care of the rest :)

o Fenômeno
Personally I would not call Afellay a C.R. since I don't like that player at all...But it's MY OPINION. And I do like his abilities and hopefully good as he looks. Just hope he has good Tiki-Taka :)

Afellay will fit very well in Barca, he has everything to suceed here.

Definately. Unlike Ibrahimovic, Afellay is willing to learn and absorb everything Guardiola and his new teammates will through at him. He knows he needs to continiously improve to fight for playtime. By training with worldclass players he can become a better player and then go from there. Its a perfect opportunity for him to test his potential and measure himself against Iniësta, Xavi, and others. He also has people like Cocu and Kluivert behind him that promised to visit Barca for support. The information that they gave him out of their own experience can be invaluable. In the end its up to Afellay himself. He needs to be patient and work very hard.

Apparently we won't be able to register Afellay in time for Levante game. Due to some silly Spanish regulations...

I think it would have been too soon for a debut anyway. I read on his managements' webpage that he will get to meet his teamplayers tomorrow and train for the first time.

At least Afellay got a royal position in the dressingroom. His locker is right next to that of Messi.
