Bummer about Ibi's debut being delayed...Indeed, Levante would've been a great opportunity for him to get a run out

What? ^

Anyway, I dont think Afellay will take 6 months to fit in like most people here are saying, lets remember that he is dutch and has been taught to play the dutch way, meaning he doesnt really have to adapt that mch to fit into the team. I can see him playing against Arsenal, as a sub probably.

Thats just a safety precaution for when he wakes up in the middle of the night thinking it was just all a dream. Yep, a quick look on his phone will do the trick just fine...

I just read on the Barca website that all went well for him during his first training yesterday. :)

"Ibrahim Afellay looked so at home on the field that it was hard to believe it was the first time he had played with the others. He warmed up and went through all the drills quite naturally. He was discrete about things, and accepted his roles gracefully – it doesn’t look like he is going to have too much difficulty settling in to his new routine."

Like I said, he will find it very easy to fit into our system and style of play, he IS Dutch.

Its not his adaptation to the style Im being conservative about. Its the overall level of play in the Primera Division that will be challenging for him in the first matches. Also training isnt the same as actual matches. It is very important for new players to leave a good impression in the first minutes they get. All eyes will be on him and its difficult to change a negative opinion. Especially in countries where the media is all over the players.

is he like gareth bale
or like nasri

He is a little bit of both. Great 1-on-1 passingskills using his speed, but also very technical in small spaces.

I think he has everything to succeed here
Football skills, age, playing style and most important Mental strongness.
Also he is ambitious and seems a hard worker. I dont think he would go parties all nights like ronaldinho or Giovani dos santos.
