"We had lots of chances to score. I honestly think that we deserved to win the match" said the Real Madrid captain

Iker Casillas was key in the 2-1 win in the second leg of the Super Cup thanks to his saves. The goalkeeper spoke from the field after the match: "The match was ours, we had a lot of chances and Valdés was phenomenal. We have a great group of players. I honestly think that we deserved it. Barcelona were with ten for a long time and have showed great professionalism by staying on the field after the match."

The Madrid captain dedicated the title to the Real Madrid supporters: "We were well prepared for this match although we’re not on a good run. The fans deserve the win and it is a gift to them. They see that the team can be the standard setters and that sometimes it comes down to bad luck." Casillas also recalled Di María's goal in the first leg: "In the Camp Nou, Barcelona had the opportunity to score the fourth goal but we went straight up the other end and scored and that goal gave us a lift."

He's a nice guy, pressure gets to him and he makes some nasty comments at times, but he's a nice kid inside.

he is nice when things go well, when things arent going well he could be just as low as anybody in this team.

Yeah..that's why he stayed on the pitch last year when we won the Supercup and accused Cesc of "diving like always". Very nice guy indeed.

Hardly makes him a 'nasty guy' does it? Come on, plenty of Barcelona players make bitter comments when they've lost.

Casillas is a great.

Casillas is my favorite keeper but I also like him as a person. Again, not trying to say he is flawless, players get touchy when they lose and he has done some things I am sure he regrets. He was the reason I was a RM fan as a kid.

I am sure he doesn't regret anything, not anymore than how much you will regret what you just admitted on this forum.

wtf? I've never heard of a madrid fan turning into a barca fan or viceversa :icon_confused:

Really? I've seen plenty  (and also between other rival clubs)

I'm ok with it if you switched when you were a little kid, since sometimes kids don't fully understand. Switching when you're older though, like teenager and above, makes it harder to take you seriously.

Well, when I was a young kid I almost exclusively played football as a keeper and my friends were Real fans so naturally I cheered for RM as well. I stopped playing football when I was 13 and stopped with football completely and I mean full stop. I actually got back into football again some 5 years later by playing Football manager, I got hooked on the game and it sort of reignited my interest for football. By then I didn't even know Ronaldo was playing in Real and had no clue who Messi, Iniesta, Xavi etc were.

I started watching PL because my best friend was an arsenal fan and don't remember how or which game it was, but I saw one barcelona game and just got completely hooked on their playing style, haven't missed a game of them since then.
