This one from Sport was hilarious :

'Dembele continued to lose ball after ball in his repeated attempts down the wing, so much so that the fans started to whistle and boo him'

Like what...

Or this gem from ARA :

'The Camp Nou loses patience with some sacred cows. Amongst the worst players of Barca, Dembele was whistled for a poor match'

When he was evidently one of the best players on the field, lol, they are literally denying reality in order to blame him for things that are going on. Plenty of reports like that, somehow. When I read those I wondered if maybe I watched a replay of another game by accident...

I think the best decision for Dembele would be for him to leave and have a fresh start, his miss against Liverpool is already forged in many fans' memory (plus injuries), You can also see the media bias against him sometimes. I see him having a better impact than Sancho in EPL, who's earning above 300k and I don't think getting 250k should be an issue for Dembele if his agents are up to the task. He should be able to have an impact in clubs like Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester, etc.

I agree but I also think he was ill advised by his parents who most certainly were pushing for a larger paycheck abroad.

tbf, it was said that we had a good deal with an EPL club but his agent had already an agreement with Leipzig and didn't want to break it with them.
If true, which isn't necessary, then it is on his agent.

Anyway, too early and the kid is adapting new country, language, style of football in a club that is chaotic atm.
Let's see how he does in 3 years

Sure, the agent orchestrated the deal to Leipzig, incentivized by a juicy commission. No doubt. Concurrently his parents surely encouraged their son to accept a higher offer from abroad. I maintain that staying put where he knew the culture, language, had friends, support from the club etc, would have been the better option for him (at least) short-term. The German language isn?t an easy one to learn either with their articles and cases. Have fun Moriba! 😂

If it doesn?t work out in Leipzig, the next move becomes important. Let?s wait and see, but he has to play. That?s essential to develop. So far, that hasn?t happened.

He has traded a possible starting spot at his childhood club against money. Needless to say that Barca is still one of the biggest clubs in the world despite current issues. In hindsight he did us a favor. Barca got money for him and promoted Nico, who arguably is the better player anyway.

His IG says he?s an artist. Is he giving up on the sport? Seems totally uninterested in his new club

He's at the African Cup of Nations with Guinea atm. Makes a move out of Leipzig more complicated, but does give him the opportunity to find some minutes and build some confidence.

With alot of hard work during his time in Cameroon, he may very well be able to return to Leipzig with a dignified copy of Matisse.
