What condition is that mate? Every player who's been a bum here has never went on to be successful elsewhere, at a comparable level of course.

You watch Roque on YouTube and don't think that's enough sample to tell you he's average at best? He's also been evaluated by our technical staff and deemed not good enough. Do you really think we can afford the luxury to ditch wonderkids without even playing them when we are broke?
Ditching him, when we are broke is exactly the wrongest time. A lot of Barca players in past went away and fell of the radar too. That's nothing unexceptional. Unless you are uber talent, you can go up and down the waves. Remember how we thought Grimaldo or even the same Olmo, we now buy back for almost premium price, were discarded as flops. That's because current Barca, including retarded fans, expect every 18-22 year player to be a fucking superstar under incompetent and corrupt management. Lot of players get into their prime and very high end prime after being bums in that kind of age bracket and even later. Iniesta really started to show up as real game changer only around mid 20s, same a Xavi, who was a rotational player for long time, when Barca was also in deep depression. These are just obvious examples, but i'm sure there are lot of lower profile players that would improve individually and improve the team as they age and get several years of proper youth development, instead of throwing them on the pitch at 18 in positions they never played in their entire lives for garbage minutes among makeshift Barca B team and except them to be scoring machines or something. This is just and example how retarded current year and its inhabitants are.
And it is especially stupid with current situation at Barca, where it's impossible to just discard some perceived flops and go for the next big thing with full wallet.

The club is moving in the right direction imo. Need to move away from signing old players that had their best years at other clubs and look for a high profile retirement gig. That was a stop gap strategy and as Camp Nou is progressing, I expect us to go back to signing interesting players in their prime.

In 2025 according to the board the backpayments to previous amigos are gonna be done with also.

Some bad elements that plagued us so far are gonna be eliminated this year and the next. And then we can finally progress as a club.

Gundogan did ok last season, but people act as if he was amazing. Not the case at all. He played like his age, like a former top class player.

He’s still a very good player and will be immensely helpful for City and their squad depth.

Very few teams can attack City. That of course is helpful for old players that struggle when off possession. Not to mention they have Rodri, by far the best DM/CM around.

Things get easier in those setups and Gundogan is gonna benefit a lot.

Gundogan still good when surrounded by quality. Man City already is in transition with moving on beyond him, but they don't mind his return because it's a literal gain. Expect them to be the favorites this year in the new format CL. Letting him go for free is crazy, at least charge City 3M or something

New format CL is same old format in later stages. They still need to perform vs Madrid in knockout match or matches.

The league stuff is early.

Barcelona has not had a Midfielder that had 19 goal contributions since our glory days, he did that at age 33, in a new league, with all of our "top" midfielders being injured in/out of the team.

He's what we wish pedri and de jong was, at 21 & 27.

Pedri has 22 assist his entire career
De jong 47, 25 of those in the Netherlands.

He has a great season period, not just at 33, especially with him playing so many games.

He was the Barca player with most touches in final third.. on some penalties and a lot of the set pieces.

Not huge numbers.. but he did well.

The issue is also how leggy he was a lot of the time.. he is barely in top 20 for players winning ball back dont think.

Trying to pair that with a 36 year old up top is too much.

Frenkie in the Koeman season got 15 goals/assists and did another level of defensive work and played more defensively than Gundo did across the season.

Barca will cope fine without him... class on ball but on too much and not a good fit with Lewa.

Griezmann also did better than Gundo when playing in the AM role a lot that season... on both sides of the ball.

He played 83 minutes per 90, in the league.
Explains why he was laggy.

But not fussed like I said about him leaving, we just need our players in there prime.

De jong & Olmo to step up.

He is good player, but it just more logical to let him go then keep for 18mil.

We have many players that can play on his position, and playing style has changed.

It is great for bot parties.

They all need to step up..

More so the ones who will be the reason for Gundo leaving.. Olmo, Pedri, Fermin etc.

Amazing how opinions get flipped on a dime.

If Pedri/Gavi are seen as currently the best players in team.. they need to step up but there will be same age excuse to counter it as per usual.

City have many good players to be fair. They did not miss Rodri at all the other day nor did Spain when he went off at HT in the final. Which is the way good squads should be built. Not reliant on one player.
Plus it helps that they play most teams of the park every week.
