Just played his first minutes after coming back from his injury. Wasn't able watch it, but people are saying he had some ridiculously good moves to beat his man; can't wait to see gifs/vids. He's also 1 win away from becoming champions with Ajax, unfortunately he almost didn't play at all during his time there.
He played like 12 minutes and indeed showed some skill;

He should be loaned again next season IMO, since he needs more playing time.
Alot of people are hoping that he's going to stay at Ajax for another season. He's in Amsterdam now for almost 3 months and seems happy here. With the result of Barcelona against Bayern and the stories afterwards that Barcelona is going to buy 4-5 players I think Ajax has a great position to get him in for another season.

Pedro looks at this on youtube and thinks "damn, how did he like even do that?". It's a no brainer, if I had to choose between Cuenca and Pedro I would take my chances with Cuenca.

OK, maybe he wouldn't do as good defensive work as Pedro - but hey, than let Alves defend or play a decent LB who can defend.

I am suspicious of the success of player loans.

When have we ever had a player come back from a loan and had a future with club?

He told 'De Telegraaf' (Shitty Dutch paper, but some close links to Ajax) that he intends to stay at Ajax next season and that the clubs are already talking about a longer loan deal.

„I would like to stay at Ajax for another year. FC Barcelona knows what I want and the clubs are talking about that, because the conditions are good I expect to stay here. Due my injury I couldn't play much yet but next season I want to be important. I am happy at Ajax, feel comfortable here and the style of football is similair to that of Barcelona. I think its good for my development to train and play under Frank de Boer for another year.”

That are his is exact words.
