I agree with JamDav. The solution is to keep Messi at RW and convince him to give a bit more in defence. At least cover the zone better.
Don't even want Messi to cover all of Marcelos runs but even just to be in his area and disrupt him a bit or show him inside.
To often tonight and some previous games Marcelo has so much room he gets up a head of steam to charge 60-70yds and just knock ball past slower midfielders like Raki and Arda.
It allows him to dominate the left hand side which in turn allows Ronaldo to get inside where he wants to be and sniff out chances.
All this was prevented when Roberto not only matched Marcelos work rate but dragged him about with his off the ball movement in the 4-0 win game.
As bad as this sounds I think Roberto gave Marcelo a harder game then than Messi has in years. All with nothing to do with what he did on the ball.
