Bad choice to start him imo. Atletico plays in a way that highlights his weaker points more than his strong points.

Well you know, people are very very fast to forget if they play one good game.
That goes for many of players.

Raki has been good overall, but he cant create any chances, and he always goes invisible in big games. (yes he scored in one big game)
Hes just a worse backup version of Iniesta, while we should have a player that takes care of the things that Iniesta arent good at, like playmaking.

He had a poor enough game, but his game revolves around Messi (or team) does who did nada. It's the same reason why his form dipped in the first half of the season and rose again in January, because he knows his role/where to be when Messi is doing things.

Rakitic has not been shit all season but has had a lot of bad games that people seem to wipe out.

Nowhere near a top CM for me and as far as him covering Messi - Messi also cover a lot of deficiencies Rakitic has on the ball. When Messi doesnt perform these are exposed more as more is needed from him.

I don't like the way Lucho has handled Rakitic tbh ,while minute wise he gets a lot of rest he simply plays almost every game ,IIRC he participated in something like 101 games out of 115 possible since he joined us
That doesn't get him the proper rest like ever .for a player whose main quality is to give it all to the team that isn't good

He is not good enough technically to hold on MF with Busi and Iniesta, we get overrun. What worked was when MSN was in shape all these 3 (and Raktic especially) just had to pass the ball to them and there was no need for creating anything.

Now he is dead tired, he cannot defend like few months ago and the front 3 looks out of shape as well. Just the way it is...He was great alot of times, people hailed him but you are only good as your last game.

Just wondering where are those smart analyzers in this forum who seems to only bark on some of the players and keep quiet on others.

But yeah, if we would rank players by who is most to be blamed, then Raki is not ranked high, (high is bad).
