I have read a little about Zdravko Mamić and the Croatian FF in these days, and it all sounds really insane
I would like to know if Rakitic is involved as well?
Like Modric, does he pay 40-50% of his wages to this Mafia-boss?

As I understand it it is primarily Dinamo Zagreb-youngsters, but Rakitic plays at the NT as well.

AFAIK Rakitic isn't involved as he's from Switzerland. He might pay a bit to play (in the NT) - who knows, but I doubt that.

No, no, Rakitic has nothing to do with Mamic/Dinamo Zagreb.

Mamic (Dinamo's president) buys most promising young Croatian players and then signs "strange" contracts with them.
Something like:
1. if you are one of the best Croatian young players, I will push you into Dinamo's first eleven from the age 17-18
2. you will play in League matches, Champions league matches and probably NT matches
3. also, domestic corrupted sport papers (like MD for Barto) will hype you and write good things about you (Halil is Croatian Messi, for example. That story came from Mamic and Croatian papers)
4. you will probably get sold to some big European club and earn tons of money and have a nice career

In return for hyping you, pushing you into Dinamo's team and NT team, players will give a part of their wages in European giants to Mamic (Modric, Kovacic etc).

So, about some players like Modric, they would "make it" either way, with or without Mamic.
But for some others, they probably wouldn't rich their level if Mamic hadn't "pushed/hyped" them in league, Champions league matches and NT matches.

For example, imagine young Halilovic from Barca, who can't play at Barca currently, who can't play for NT team and who can't play in Champions league.
He plays only for Sporting.
Imagine if he played last 2-3 years for a team in Champions league, if he played 20-30 NT matches...

Those "two" players will reach different level aged 23-24, if they played 30-50 Champions league matches and 50 NT matches, or 0+0 Champions league+Nt matches on the other hand (Halil in Sporting).

Majority of players (who have a high ceiling) will faster reach their ceiling and will faster get more experience, learn faster, improve faster etc.

So, through corrupted club (Dinamo) and corrupted FA, Mamic is "improving" careers of young players (and that way Dinamo and Croatia sometimes have weaker results because we play with youngsters).
So, players get tons of chances, they are improving faster on the highest level (league, Champions league, NT qualifiers, NT friendlies, Euros) and Mamic is "boosting" their career and their development.

And again, players know that and in return, they "pay" 10-20-30-50% of their future wages from Real, Bayern and similar to Mamic (who then doesn't pay taxes).

More or less, this is in shortest the story about Mamic, corruption and players giving money to Mamic (and him not paying taxes in the end) from Croatia.

Players involved are only players whom Dinamo sold to European teams in the last 10 years like Modric, Kovacic, Mandzukic, Lovren, Da Silva, Brozovic, Badelj, Corluka, Vida etc

Players who never played for Dinamo don't have any connections with Mamic and his "modern slavery" are more or less only Rakitic, Perisic and Srna.
Rakitic never played for Dinamo, since he was born in Switzerland and started to play there.

And then you get this:
http://www.90min.com/posts/2600018-luka-modric-gives-statement-in-court-as-part-investigation-into-corrupt-transfer

Also, hooligans are fighting against Mamic (flares on Euro 2016).
You can understand them to some extent, but they have chosen a wrong way to fight.

Not surprised that he had a pretty bad game against Portugal, he generally doesn't play great against teams that sit back a lot of the time and defend with 10 men. He is more useful when things are more open and he has space he can exploit. Without that space, his deficiencies in handling the ball in small spaces and his almost non-existent dribbling makes him not so much of a danger for the oppositon, especially if he's not on his shooting day so he can save the day with a long-range goal.

I love Raki and was rooting hard for Croatia but he was pretty bad today. And then had the nerve to talk shit even though Croatians weren't impressive either.

Oh well. Hope he rests up for the season.

Croatian team is like a bunch of teenage kids.
They/we won matches in a group and thought that the tournament is over, as if the opponents will drop dead when they see Croatian team.

They have 0 experience on big tournaments and how you should dose your physical and more importantly, mental strength.

Some Croatian players even posted stupid memes and jokes on Facebook (Kramaric) how Portugal and CR7 are shitting their pants now since they have to play against Croatia.

I am from Croatia, I love Barca and hate CR7 (and thus Portugal), but congrats to Portugal.
Matches are played on a field, not in media, on Facebook or Twitter.

What is worse, I didn't expect that Rakitic would offer such an idiotic answer/alibi for our loss.
Dear Raki, your NT team had a horrible mental strength.
And a tournament lasts for 7 matches, not 3.
The winner is a team who wins the 7th match (and who plays well in matches number 4, 5, 6 and 7).
It is a nice thing to top a group, but big boys save their strength, energy, motivation (and luck) for more important matches.

Also, a retarded Croatian commentator was talking the whole match how CR7 is invisible and how he had 0 shots on target (which rarely happens).
I was saying to myself all the time: dear idiot (commentator), stop saying that shit. He'll shoot once and he'll score or something.
That's what big and experienced boys do.

Teenage boys post jokes on Facebook and think that they have conquired the world because they won against Spain in group's stage.

Oh well, you can learn something new every new day.
(Or you won't learn anything if you'll pretend that we lost only because of a bad luck, bad coach, referee or something else).
Choker teams choke all the time. Cr7 and big boys from big teams score in key moments of key matches (even when they play extremely horrible).
That is not only a bad luck...

Ivan Rakitic: "The better team is going home. Portugal beat us by doing nothing, no one knew if they were on the pitch"

I hate this sore loser idiotic bullshit.
Portugal did their thing, like it or not, but it is not like Croatia was doing anything at all right up until the last five minutes in extra time.
If indeed Portugal was not on the pitch why were you so damn inept to score then?

Rakitic and all of croatia were a shit show yesterday.
They should apologize to the croatian fans instead of putting blame on someone else.

I agree. Our team are like teenagers. Its funny though how Ronaldo labeled Iceland as small team and then Portugal proceedes to play like bitches. In any case, Raki was not good enough. Should have subbed Pjaca far earlier...Hopefully Portugal loses against Poland.

Oh, you should read our newspapers today.

I think my head will explode.
People are stupid as fuck here and they live in a denial.

90% of comments from media and from football fans in Croatia today are:
1. NT coach Cacic is horrible. He ruined our golden generation. These guys were capable of winning Euro, and Mamic and his coach Cacic ruined everything.
(Seriously, wtf? Cacic was awesome 5 days ago against Spain, and now he ruined our NT team, lol).
2. further, fans keep saying excuses how we were the best team on Euro (lol, in group stage, where big boys play with half of their strength)
Etc.
I don't even want to post on domestic internet forums because you can't win.

Some facts to consider:
1. Croatia NEVER managed to win ANY knockout match on World cup or Euros from 1998 till 2016.
So, for 18 years in a row, Croatia was ALWAYS knocked out either in group stage or in the first knockout round
Do I need to say that fans always think that we are unlucky, referees are against us, opponents scored a lucky goal (like Portugal)?
Incredibly stupid excuses.
If you are losing all the time in the exactly same way, you have some serious problem either in quality or in mental strength.

2. nobody mentions how horrible Modric played.
Or Rakitic.
People mention only Mandzukic (he is now also guilty for everything).
Yesterday Modric Mia, Rakitic horrible, Badelj shitting his pants, Perisic still painting his haircut, Strinic insanely horrible, Kalinic when entered showed first touch on the level of a 3rd division striker.
The only bright spot was young Pjaca who played for 10 minutes.
And that is the only thing where a coach made a mistake.

3. nobody mentions mentality and mental strength.
Big teams (Gemany, Italy, Spain etc) play with half of the strength in group stage.
A winner is a team who plays well in knockout rounds, not in group stage.
Also, since we have insane fans who are going into extremes (one day you are a God, 2nd day you need to get sacked, the 3rd day you are a God again), players started to believe in their hype.
Croatian media were reporting in the last 5-10 days how all fans in the world agree that Croatia played the best football till now, how we are biggest favorites etc.
(They write only good stuff, nothing bad and nothing realistic)
Then fans started to be too ecstatic.
And players bought the hype.

Some people will say that we shouldn't look at the stats, but again, before Croatia:portugal match, some stats "smelled really bad", like:
1. Croatia didn't win a knockout match for 18 years in a row
2. Portugal vs Croatia in previous matches: 3:0, 2:0, 1:0
3. Portugal have CR7 and knows how to exactly get into semifinals or finals of Euros

Ok, it is easy for me to be smart now, but a history has been repeated again:
1. Croatia still without a win in knockout games for 18 years
2. Portugal vs Croatia now: 3:0, 2:0, 1:0, 1:0
4 matches without a goal.
So, do you think that is just a coincidence that Croatia played like a crap yesterday?
Also, Portuguese coach has 5 wins in 6 matches against Croatian NT team and against Dinamo Zagreb in Champions league.

4. and of course, fans won't mention what Quaresma said: matches are won a field, not on papers and on Facebook.

Croatia will never turn into a good team until fans, players and FA realizes how many wrong things a team has done.
It is not always a bad luck, referees, injuries etc.
Improve yourself and results will get better.

This reminds me of Barcelona in dying years of Tiki-Taka, when we blamed everyone else except ourselves.
1. teams are parking buses, it is not our fault
2. teams are playing dirty against us, it is not our fault
3. referees don't love us, it is not our fault

No, Tiki-Taka is outdated.
It IS our fault.
