Unless we get Verratti there is no sense in selling the next best thing.

Someone will need to go though as we have too much midfielders. And next season Roberto will play there more often too as we are getting a rb.

A week ago, the Spanish magazine Jot Down published an interview with Rakitic

There's some translated quotes from the twitter-account Barça News Forum. These were posted from today.

What Rakitic said at one point clearly implies that Lucho instructs the players to play more direct and use longer balls from deep.

Again rumors about selling him to MU or MC to get money for Messi and Iniesta raise. Well... It it becoming mandatory rumors now.

that's hilarious for me,there is problem for leo's new contract so we must sell rakitić to get the funds, but there was no problem splashing 50 or 60 millions for paco and andre gomes, who both showed very little or nothing so far

Agreed wit you. All that no money for Messi bullshit makes no sense when you see they trashed so much on Paco. If they had no money they would keep Munir and trash that money for Messi renevalo

I wouldn't believe any of those we must sell Rakitic to get funds for Messi and Iniesta's renewals.

Miguel Rico a week ago said we have the money to renew both Messi and Iniesta, Roberto etc without needing to sell anyone.

He is having a horror 1st half, not that the rest of the team is doing anything...

We look way to easy to press with this static mid line..

On majority of matches lately, he looks as if he has 38 years suddenly (as if he aged 10 years in terms of physical abilities in the last 12 months).
He looks insanely tired and slow all the time.

Not to mention numerous horrible passes in the 1st half.

He's not a DM but that doesn't excuse this performance.

Plus, he played for Croatia as a DM under a few NT Coaches, in qualifying games, on Euros, on WC.

He is not a rookie on that position.
Imo, something is seriously wrong with his physical abilities lately.

He really sucks, he has trouble reciving the ball. The damn thing always bounces off half a meter or more off of his foot and it that time a opposing defender has all the time in the world to reach him and put him under pressure.
And we all know he sucks under pressure for his poor ball control in tight spaces.

In the first half he played like a 38 years old guy.

In the 2nd half he played like a 60 years old granny.
Always too slow in every tackle and in every pass.
10s of bad passes.
1 yellow card earned, and he should have gotten one more because of late tackles, cause by his poor pace and being late all the time.
In defense, he fell on his ass a few times exactly like a 60 years old granny trying to catch the kids.

Oh, an that ball control, as a user above said, the ball was bouncing and bouncing and bouncing around him.

So, he was horrible the whole 2016, then he had one good game a week ago, but now again, we can see why he lost a place in the team and why the board is willing to let him go for a nice amount of cash.
