Hate to break it to you guys, but it's easy to look good when you play as a DM, the other team doesn't press at all and don't pose any threat attacking wise. All Rakitic had to do last night was get the ball and move it forward to his unmarked partners in midfield. Play him as an RM again and task him with moving the ball to an attacker and he'd flop like usual.

DM is not an easy position and is probably the most pressed position. If you had said Sporting in last nights particular game didn’t press him then I’d be happy.

Yeah that's what I meant, of course the DM position in general isn't easy at all.

Average to decent performance to be honest. Sporting was slow in pressing and he cannot be a DM. Busquets still was much better for me that night. All in all, just another mediocre midfielder, he just isn't the same anymore.

I agree with Dembele. There was no pressure on him, during attack or defense, to do much at all. All he did was pass straight to the unmarked midfielder, or pass back when required. Can't remember many occasions he tried breaking lines of defense at all, which Busquets does so well at DM. So overall, you can't fault him for a bad game because he didn't really have to do much, but our expectations are so low from him at this point, that we're actually saying he had a good game - which I don't believe to be true at all.
