I hope he stays unless we get a insane sum of money for him. I think the competition in midfield will motivate him for a few more years. I also think he will accept fewer minutes in the future. He is like the definition of humble. If people like it or not, he became a senior in our team. He can help the new generation evolve while he plays less and less.

Im also a bit afraid to sell him. If we do it will most likely be to a rival team in the CL...

I hope Rakitic stays. He will be missed when he is not here. One of the most underrated players we have.

I love his dedication.

How did I miss THAT amazing game ?

He was mediocre last night ..

Try not to close your eyes whenever Rakitić gets the ball ;) you might find a good player there

Rakitić, Roberto and Suarez bossing Real last week, must've been tough!

He has 1 amazing game whole season and now people want him to stay ?

lmao.

Did you watch the last two Sevilla matches?

The CL is another competition entirely and many of our struggles in that competition in the past 3 seasons have been mental because you cannot explain it otherwise with us going out against inferior teams on paper and in practice while we are dominating (absolutely) the likes of RM (the last 3 years champions) and Atlético who have been one of the best performing teams in the CL, in the two domestic competitions.

I think it has been more of peaking early, and accumulating knocks (something that we can play through but still wear on the players/team) and fatigue by March and April through competing (and usually winning in two other competitions). It also isn't like we didn't play brilliant vs PSG at home and excellent vs Roma at home (until the overconfident brain fart that let Roma get an away goal and have a glimmer of hope going into leg 2). I think it was aslo home against Chelsea (maybe champions of the EPL at the time) also brilliant. But when you are fatigued and banged up when the train goes off the rails it is harder to bounce back, energy and life can get sucked out. If the CL was won late October through early December Barca would have had many and not just 1 the last 5 years.

So EV, please rotate, rotate, rotate. The league is wrapped up and treat it that way. Atletico is going to drop points, don't stress if we lose a few.

Sell him while his price is high, we could take 60 mill or maybe more at the end of the season, and make space for De Jong and Riqui

He has another kind of technical ability than what most think of as "technical barca-player". Still, that chip against Real for example or the volley against Sevilla in October or volley against Tottenham in CL all takes quite a bit of technical skill to pull off. That part of him as a player tends to get overlooked when he is characterized as only a workhorse.

If he goes this summer, I hope we get a high price and he succeeds wherever he ends up.
