Did you watch the fucking game or did you just check the stats/score screen at the end of the game?
We were totally outplayed there and only won thanks to Messi brilliance and a huge amount of luck.

Plus Liverpool didn’t even have Firmino, there most influential forward who links front and midfield and is the first name on Klopps teamsheet

I only have to watch Barca to see that Rakitic simply isn’t anywhere close to being Barca standard ...

I agree rakitic should go, where we differ is i think (but you don't) busi should too. They neither are athletic and good enough at winning the 2nd balls and with the pieces around them we need more of that in those midfield spots along with the technique to play possession ball. Busi is also on a huge wage and seems to be contributing to locker room complacency. Get them both out.

We should get 60 mil euros for this guy at best; accept anyting above 50 mil euros and run with the money. Add another 20 and upgrade this Toyota Avensis to a Range Rover in Atleticos Rodri.

I think the most sensible fee we can get for him is like 40m euros. He's over 31 now. He's declined as a footballer.... and he probably only has a decent season or 2 left him in.

Considering Inter were prepared to pay 50M for a 33yo Modric last summer, I'd imagine a two years younger Raki could still be a major acquisition to a mid-level club like the Milan clubs or Sevilla. Especially since he himself is saying how he's playing the best football of his career, lol. So that should make him decent for a mid-level club for another 3 years. The bad thing being clubs like these aren't made of money and will do anything to negotiate a cheaper price or even want a loan first, and with our terrible negotiators, I would imagine they would succeed. So yeah, if we manage to sell him, it won't be for more than 30-40M max. Madrid would've sold him last summer for 70-80M for sure. But at this point the player himself has become such poison to the club that I would take the under selling price just to get rid of him. And that really is the problem with us, we don't get rid of players when we should, instead we keep them so they stay and become the villain and go in the end for half the price just so we get rid of them. I said it last summer, it would've been the perfect time to sell Raki and make some real profit. We should've been ruthless in this case, and we weren't. Even with our terrible selling we would've gotten at least 60M last season, now that reduced by a third or even half. If we wait another year, it will go down to under 20M. But we'll probably even keep him until 2021 and then sell him back to Sevilla for 5M or something, since he's also made it clear that he doesn't want to leave Spain and the only other place he's ever played and been comfortable in, was Sevilla.

He is 31, with sizeable wage packet on top. We are not getting anything above 40million. If someone comes in with 30million we should accept to get him off asap, but he does not want to leave. Therefore, a team would have to provide him a lucrative offer and thus we'd be forced to drop the price further.

Teams know we need to sell most of the players on the "list" to fund purchases, and reduce the wage structure. We will not get market value for any player that won't be high in-demand.

I’d suggest that 30 million is a fair price to get shut of Rakitic.. I don’t think WE should pay much more than that , though

If Rakitic is not able to be sold thanks to being cucked by a waitress, then the next best option is to send him to Sevilla in exchange for one of their players. (s)He has always expressed a desire to retire there, so have a look down their squad and see if anyone is worthwhile.

Then crosscheck it with whether the guy below would play him.

I don't think he'll leave. His biggest fan in the world is still Barca coach and Rakitic + wife are happy in Barcelona with their family. Add his high wages and it's getting very difficult.

Only way would probably be if the club told him he won't play next season (like Arda), but that's almost as unlikely as benching Messi for Malcom.

Prepare for another season of Busi and Raki permanently "occupying" 2 of 3 midfield spots.
