It's no secret Rakitic has been on the market since January.
Now, after last night's omission, Rakitic has these options:
1 - he knows he's not getting that contract extension/pay bump he and his agent tried to obtain by making up that PSG offer last summer.
2 - so he can just try and see out his current contract and leave on a free - something our board quite clearly does not want to let happen - but he has skated so far, he might try and force his stay for another week until after the transfer window closes and hope to continue being considered as an option by Valverde. It's unlikely but it's still a possibility.
3 - Juventus doesn't make much sense; they're stacked and need money. Inter would be a better option
4 - Talking of Inter, a Chilean journalist - who has close ties with Vidal - has stated multiple times he's also on the market. If an offer of 20 mil comes, he will be sold. Inter only proposed a loan so far, which we promptly rejected.
Rakitic is probably thinking he will stay if Vidal is sold, but the same journalist said Barca may as well sell both - so that's not a guarantee.
5 - PSG swap for Neymar. Unlikely since they probably don't want him as we've made them that offer already.
