Some Croatian papers say that he was benched again because he could move to Juventus on Monday.

Even though, Juventus story doesn't make sense.
They already have:
Pjanic, Khedira, Ramsey, Matuidi, Rabiot, Can, Betancur.

Psg or Inter made more sense.

Anyone else feel like Juves midfield is kind of mediocre? I mean they are all goodish players but not that impressive. I doubt they are going to win CL with that midfield.

Yes, but Rakitic would fit that profile perfectly

When you take players on free transfers like Rabiot, Ramsey, Khedira, Can then you get good players, but not the best around.
Recently Juve has switched tactic to galactico-signings (Ronaldo, De Ligt), so I would be kind of surprised if they went for Rakitic instead of someone like Pogba or younger hyped wonderkid (Havertz or whoelse is out there in midfield).

It's no secret Rakitic has been on the market since January.

Now, after last night's omission, Rakitic has these options:

1 - he knows he's not getting that contract extension/pay bump he and his agent tried to obtain by making up that PSG offer last summer.

2 - so he can just try and see out his current contract and leave on a free - something our board quite clearly does not want to let happen - but he has skated so far, he might try and force his stay for another week until after the transfer window closes and hope to continue being considered as an option by Valverde. It's unlikely but it's still a possibility.

3 - Juventus doesn't make much sense; they're stacked and need money. Inter would be a better option

4 - Talking of Inter, a Chilean journalist - who has close ties with Vidal - has stated multiple times he's also on the market. If an offer of 20 mil comes, he will be sold. Inter only proposed a loan so far, which we promptly rejected.

Rakitic is probably thinking he will stay if Vidal is sold, but the same journalist said Barca may as well sell both - so that's not a guarantee.

5 - PSG swap for Neymar. Unlikely since they probably don't want him as we've made them that offer already.

The Juve rumour involves a swap of Rakitc with Can. I'd take it if only because Can is likely to get you 20-30M on the market at half the wages and 6 years younger

Says we want money and not players and also states that Rakitic has doubts about his future here.

Both MD and Sport are saying we are willing to send Rakitic on loan - with an obligation to buy - to Juventus.

The board also wants Umtiti to leave still.

FFS rumors are we are planing to loan him to Juve????????????????????????? What is the purpose of loaning a 31y old player? Who the fuck would buy him next season with 32y of age with contract expiring in summer 2021!!! He should be sold not loaned! We should loan him ONLY with an OBLIGATION to buy.

True. Juve has the money. If they want him, they should buy him. Stop those ridiculous loans FFS.

I feel Barto and co have been trying to sell him all summer, trying stealth, under the table deals, etc but Rakitic probably refused leaving and now they're just getting desperate, having Valverde freeze him out of the team, offering him on loan - it's clear they just want rid.

Juve are probably as good a team as Rakitic could hope at this point. They seem to want him so he'll probably be a starter there. So I think it's gonna happen.
