Ivan Rakitić

Thought he gave the ball away 3-4 times with sloppy passes in the first 10 mins he was on. Nice pass for the assist but I think only Messi turns that in to a goal. Was fairly decent for the second part of his cameo. Would be interesting to see Frenkie, Arthur and Rakitic in the same midfield.

Not sure if there is any truth to this. With AC Milan struggling, and Inter challenging for the Serie A title, Inter seems like a more feasible destination somehow

Unfortunately for Raki, he can't replace FDJ, Arthur, Busi or Vidal as a starter at this point, as he brings nothing more than them in their respective positions.
If he could agree to have a substitute / rotation role then great, but he doesn't seem ready for that, which is not that weird at 31, but his level has dropped too much for his age. Even in a done game, he gave away some easy balls for no reason and seemed too slow and clumsy when carrying the ball.
Had an assist though, which is nice.

It looks like Milan and Inter will fight for him. Inter definitely looks like a better option. IMHO he would fit perfectly there.

It's said Milan wants an experienced players this January to help right the ship and give leadership to the young players and I'm certain they are probably looking at Rakitic as a target.

Conte at Inter has been complaining about how little squad depth they have and wants more reinforcements in January and have been linked with Rakitic and Vidal the most. Question is if both teams are willing to put up the money to get him.

Not exactly thrilled with Inter due to the Rafinha stuff but I think they are probably in better position to try and get Rakitic.

Maldini is a sporting director at Milan and Zvonimir Boban, their Croatian no10 from 90s is Maldini's right hand.
Boban probably wants Rakitic, but...

A few days ago they asked the owners for more money for new players.
The owners replied: we will work slowly. We will be strong again in 10 years, lol.

So, if their owners aren't willing to invest too much, I don't believe that they will splash 10-20m for Rakitic plus high fees.
It was a joke, but I can really see a loan deal offer from Milan.

Inter, the same.

Come on Milan clubs, do this for us. Milan take Rakitic, and Inter take Vidal. Maybe then finally Alena and Puig can get a proper well deserved run in the first team. Never gonna happen until EV is here though. Should get along a manager who actually prioritizes technique and skill above physicality and everything else in his midfielders and who is willing to bring us back to playing the Barca way.

Honestly at this point, I'd sack EV by January, and sell both Raki and Vidal to the Milan clubs, even if it's only for 20M each (and we wouldn't be losing any money on either, since we paid around that for them to begin with), then appoint Pimienta as interim manager, give him until the end of the season to prove himself, and he'd probably promote Puig and Fati in that time alone, and more importantly, make the fans excited to watch the team again. After that, if it doesn't work out, we can always go for someone like Koeman in the summer if that's what we're planning. But why not try this for half a season, no point in letting Valverde comfortably ride out his contract and keep getting paid, when we all know nothing's gonna change and that we're heading for another CL heartbreak, possibly another embarrasment too. But of course, what am I even saying, with this Board there is zero percent chance Bartomeu would actually be bold and take a chance for once.

Selling both Rakitic and Vidal this winter would be a pretty dumb move. We won't get anything for Vidal and we don't have that type of player in our team. He needs to stay until summer.
