He is leaving Ajax this summer and frank de boer has already suggested barca should sign him.... He is decent and is exactly what barca is looking for... a left footed CB who is tall, tough and hard tackling but at the same time is very intelligent, reads the game and can play on the ground and brings the ball out smoothly. He is an Ajax academy product and is a captain at 24, that says something about his personality! and since he has only one year of his contract left, shouldnt cost that much for barca, which is another plus!

After today's game: Frank de Boer asked about Jan Vertonghen’s future, reporter: "Arsenal or Spurs", Fd Boer: "why not Barcelona?"

But He would surely choose barca over arsenal if we were to go for him... i dont see him starting in arsenal, considering arsenal has already Vermaelen and Koscielny as starters ( they both played very well this season and complement each others game)... Also his style of play would suits us more!

I can't really tell the difference between fact and rumours. I'll believe we're getting Vertonghen when it's announced on Arsenal.com. The result of the Juan Mata transfer saga was very depressing.

Vertonghen shouldnt go Arsenal at all IMO. He would be best suited at Barca like De Boer said, but Arsenal already have a decent 2 centre backs so he will have to settle with rotation and a player of his calibre should be starting week in week out

Totally agree! I just hope Zubi is going for him, will be a bargain!

As a Belgian and avid Ajax supporter I would undoubtedly ejaculate in my boxers if Barça were to sign him.
