hmmmm,,,,,

very strange signing, but for free might try this one out.

what is his profile? ?

hopefully he is not similar to that bumbling oaf jerry mina........
Going by what I've read about him and the videos I've watched. He's strong, Athletic and fast as well and pretty good on the ball. He's raw as you can expect on the defensive side as he's 19.

Yerry fits in a system with a deeper defensive line IMO. While there's some tall and beastly CBs such as VVD who can play in HL systems but with Yerry, he wasn't quite as athletic and his reading of the game was pretty poor to be effective here.

Yerry looks like a guy who has all the tools to be what VVD is but in reality, he just doesn't have it.

We brought him in early because he was being forced to train alone by Toulouse.

He hasn't played since November and was removed from the first team due to rejecting a contract renewal. It would be pretty harmful for his development if we left him there for 6 more months of training alone.

We shouldve loaned him to a ligue1 team, knowing Fraudverde he won't get enough playing time here.

Is there a La Liga team with CB problems? I would loan him until the end of the season to get back in match rythm.

Oh yeah... It's February already... Damn.

Well, we are stacked at CB. We have 3 LCBs and 3 RCBs.

Vermaelen and Umtiti cant really be counted on and Pique has played almost every minute this season. I think Murillo and Todibo will get some chances.

But why? Is he already here and eligible to play? Lets be real now, he won't play in Copa semis or Final unless we have a 4 goal lead in semis 2 leg, he 100% won't play in CL, in La Liga its Murillo over him 100%, also Umtiti is coming back, so he might get MAX 1 game if we win la liga early, guy ruined his carreer. I'm gonna assume he is here for the B team.

Thing is, unless Denis is back or Todibo request another number he should -like any other player- be able to keep his number next year as no player should have his number taken.
And tbh, I like it. hope he keeps it for long term

^ I agree.

Numbers are just numbers.

I completely disagree. If numbers had just been numbers Coutinho would not have taken #7 as soon as it got vacated and Puyol would not have made a big deal of Busquets taking his number after him, nor would Cesc have always wanted to wear #4 due to Pep Guardiola.

It serves some marketing purposes too if Arthur and de Jong have #8 and #6 respectively after the legacies left behind by Xavi and Iniesta in recent times. Barca can market the hell outta the hype both will receive as a duo together.

A lot of squad numbers have mythical meanings to them and #6 at Barca is just like that. If not de Jong, then whoever the best and most suitable academy player should get it.

No way should a central defender have this number.

Guess just like Denis then? Same people who caused an uprising when Denis got it are okay with a rookie CB getting it now

It shouldn't be a placeholder squad number.

I'm fairly certain Todibo will get a different number once Rafinha, Samper, Vermaelen and others leave. The club lost a money making machine in Neymar so they'll have to feed off the Arthur + de Jong hype and line both up with the #8 and #6 numbers to start making some inroads in that department again.

And it just looks much better on a midfielder.
