How is that more Neymars fault than Mathieus? The smoker wasn't focused and definitely not prepared for the ball to come his way. Mathieu had a really good start to his Barca career before a bad game against PSG and a shocker against RM, although that was on Lucho who decided it was a good idea to give him the same role and duties as Alba instead of playing him as a defensive LB, 3rd CB.

Then he got injured and has been inconsistent, but still had some important, good games.

He has done quite well IMO.

2. He is a better left back than Adriano who is Barça B level at best
3. Every time he is in central defense we concede so many chances because he can't stop crosses and position himself adequately for his life. Mascherano is 40 times better in this regard.
