well we get rid of mathiew ; we need 4 CBs , Thiago silva won't hurt Umtiti and i assume his wages are less crazy right now .. what excites me about him is the style of play .. brazilian defenders work for barca perfectly , they are not afraid of going forward to get the ball back ( unlike européens defenders with their classic orthodox sit back defending )
He's on like 12m net or something like that. He's 32, and still a starter for PSG. At Barca he'll want to be a starter alongside Pique. Then you have Mascherano too, and Umtiti as well.
It would definitely hamper his progress.
If anything, Barca could promote someone like Marlon as a 4th choice CB or sign someone like Yerry Mina for 9m for the 4th choice CB role.
I see Mascherano leaving the club after the 2018 WC to perhaps play a season or two in Italy before ending his career in Argentina. If you have a young CB like Marlon/Tarin/Mina as 4th choice for a year, they might be ready to make a step up when Masche leaves.
Or if the club are hell bent on an experienced CB then sure, go for it, but not someone like Thiago Silva. It's not worth paying those wages just to get a couple of years out of him while sacrificing a promising CB like Umtiti at the same time.
The
only PSG player I'd sign is
Marco Verratti.
