Very happy with this transfer. he's been my first choice LB since PES 6, and it's good to finally see him at Barca

People underrating him really need to watch more La Liga outside of Real Madrid and Barca, he was one of the best defenders last season.

What's the point of this? This is just as useless as making a Youtube video showing a player doing tricks. You can easily find instances of Thiago Silva, Hummels, Benatia etc having similar moments.

Honest question: have you seen balanta or doria playing, regularly? To claim any of them would be a good signing for Barça?
I have seen doria, and he is slow, far from ready, very risky. Mathieu is solid, knows the league, the language... fast, good in aerial duels.

Also, what's the order now? We have Pique, Mascherano, Bartra and Mathieu. Somehow I get the feeling that Bartra will end up the first choice for the bench, and I don't like that at all.

Since no fantastic CBs are available, we should have bought a young promising player like Doria or whoever, who would be here for rotation and to cover any possible injuries while he's growing as a player, and later we'd probably have a solid CB in him. Meanwhile, Bartra would have his well deserved spot not being the last choice.

Oh and by the way, if Mathieu gets #5, I won't be very happy.

So many people on this forum demand players they have never watched play. It's ridiculous. It's fair enough to be excited about being linked to a player because of their reputation and it's ok that you don't watch him regularly cause surely he has a reputation for a reason. But to ridicule the board for not signing said player and ridiculing other signings because they don't have a big reputation is incredibly annoying. There are many things to be considered when signing a player. It's not just a case of throwing your money at the flavour of the month. Those are the signings that are incredibly stupid and risky. Just look at what happened with Henrique and Kerrison.

Mathieu will be first choice LB and Masch is going back into midfield so we will still need to buy another CB. Bartra will still get game time.
