Glad he is doing great at Sporting. I remember for Barca he took one or two free kicks in three years and he scored!
Love his honesty.

The guy should be thankful because he won a lot of titles with Barca. I don't like how he plays the victim card. He was awful in the 3rd season and mediocre in the 2nd. His only good season was the first one, and that as a back-up player.

Don't see how he plays the victim card. He clearly said he had good 2 seasons and that only last one he was injured and treated unfairly by Sport, Bartomeu and Robert. Which probably is true. He still loves Barca he said.
Oh, and he said he is happy at winning those titles so hardly unthaklnkful.

How was he treated unfairly? He was treated so unfairly that he started in the biggest game of the season even though he was absolute shit most of the time he played prior to that. If anything, Lucho put way too much trust in him.

Read the full interview man, it is really cool.
Honest but respectful. Alves should take a lesson from him

A lot of things went wrong in that game and while Mathieu was terrible and so were a number of players that match, a lot of the blame has to be pinned on Lucho for it as well. We all knew Mathieu wasn't good in the LB spot but Lucho still persisted with it despite having a fit Alba and Digne available that match.

Mathieu was an easy scapegoat to put all the blame on as he was aging and at the time very likely on his way out after the season was over. So many things went wrong that game and He shouldn't be shouldering all the blame on that game as well.

OK. The translation must of been bad then because it sounds like he's accusing Barca of not treating him fairly and is quite blunt about it. I didn't get that impression at all.

I don't understand. Why would he tell Valverde that?

Mathieu left in any case, even though Lucho didn't stay.
