Estel, Barca wingers play with opposite foot to the side of wing they play. Messi plays on the right and is left footed. Henry plays on the left and is right footed. That's because our wingers cut in rather than run the line and cross the ball.

Yeah I know... Just wanted to know if is comfortable with it though. On that logic we'd be better off with Perotti no? I mean he already is a legitimate left winger and importantly a right footed one with a knack for goals as well!!

And apparently last time Navas played LW, Sevilla lost 4-0! No points in guessing whom they lost to :p

Navas is a bigger deal than Perotti, for the past month Perotti has been warming the bench for Sevilla, also he is left-footed and wouldn't serve that cutting-in role that our players do. This is the reason why Alves is so useful, because Messi cuts in given that he has a stronger foot that is opposite to the side he plays on, giving him the chance to exploit his own dribbling skill, but also making a load of space for Alves for the overlap, and this is perfect because in case Messi doesn't dribble, he can give it to Alves to cross.
Maxwell and Abidal play the same role on the left although with much less impact and frequency. Given that Perotti is left-footed he wouldn't be ideal in that sense. Also, I don't see why we should sign a benchwarmer when we've already got two in Bojan and Henry. And I want one of them to stop being a benchwarmer - and obv i mean Bojan.
At least in signing Navas we'd be signing a relatively big name and a proven player. Imo it should be either big name or full-on cantera, no middle-ground small name signings who would clog up the path for the cantera players to prove themselves.

Perotti is powerful with both his feet... Nothing against Navas, he's a great player IMO, but I think he's better suited to RW. Perotti is more versatile I guess, playable on both wings, attacking mid & occasionally as striker. So a winger version of Iniesta you could say, only better!!

Navas if not able to cross with left leg then we lose all the width from our wingers... with both Messi & Navas always cutting in!!

Pedro, though not yet is a better player than Navas, can offer a LOT more than him!! Powerful with both feet, good in front of goal and with experience can give the effect of both Messi & Henry to both cut in & to be the traditional hug-the-touchline winger. Make him learn the link up play and you cannot wish for a better versatile player!! Signing a Navas would kill that aspect of Pedro who will have to ride the bench then!! A 27-28 year old, in-prime winger signing would be the best thing to do I suppose

Hmm perhaps you're right but from what I've seen I always though Perotti was only left-footed.
Well Navas is suited to RW in Sevilla's system but it doesn't mean he wouldn't be suited to LW in our system. It's a completely different scenario. We don't need Perotti's versatility - Pep would never make use of it. We play 4-3-3 with the front 3 sometimes rotating during a match, otherwise it's fixed. The only player who plays on the wing and in the mid is Iniesta but it's more because of necessity.
Perotti is still young but I think that he was a bit overhyped, and he didn't do so well so he has been relegated to the bench. Logical choice. Navas on the other hand is well-suited to the league and is more experienced.

But that is how we play already - Henry and Pedro both cut in from the left while Messi cuts in from the right - but htey don't do it at the same time hence we don't lose width.

Regardless, I don't think Navas would be the correct choice to sign anyway.

You have to experience it to know it. And beef is speaking because he knows what he's talking about. And it's not racial. And it's far from that Westernized image of sympathic gypsy with a guitar. In Balkans and Hungary and some other central European countries more than 90 percent of them refuse to integrate into society. Vast majority of them dont want to work as they are accustomed to scrounge off or steal to support themselves. They submit to crime, don't go to schools, use children to go from house to house as beggars while, their fathers, often with several wives (often minor wives) live in a big house and claim support from the state. And yes they have 8-9 children to get even more state support and have more working drones to send them barefoot to beg. Sad on the children. And when they grow up they dont know anything better and the circle is closed.
As for their teens and ganging and stealing, it's a more sinister thing to go into now.. As a kid me and my friend were robbed by some gypsy with a knife. And that wasn't that unusual either.
Living on brinks of civilization for so long inevitably leads you to clash with the society that evolved over those centuries while you are stuck to your primitive forms of behavior.

I don't like to be prejudice against minorities whatever they may be. They are humans after all, theres bad people in every country with every nationality. There are laws within the constitution of countries hosting these minorities which protect them from persecution. Jesus Navas is a footballer who happens to have gypsy ancestry, anyway he shouldn't be discriminated against for the actions of people totally unrelated to him.

This is the second time you've brought it up, the first time I read it i just ignored it, but I can tell that you're a very unintelligent individual, if you notice none of us have discriminated against Jesus Navas, and some of us (me included) like him very much.
If you want to bring up a discussion about racism, go home and do it with your family. Not on the forum.

Gnegneri

immaculately conceived
When I see him run, I also think with a squeeky voice "ammagad he is soo tiny!"

But seriously, he must have the most slim legs in whole Spanish football.

I'm pretty happy with my intellect, you obviously have an inferiority complex to call me unintelligent and eventhough I wasn't directly suggesting any one was racist, it's pretty obvious that many of you have an issue with gypsies. I am not having a go at any members, I was simply replying to a post which was directed at me. Please do not insult others, it doesn't particularly serve your cause.
