Joan Laporta

The current La Liga rules are an own goal in many ways however I don?t believe that they are preventing the board from sacking Koeman. Less than 24 hours ago every source was reporting Koeman?s immediate sacking. This has most likely more to do with the lack of consensus within the board in regards to the replacement. In any case I feel that my criticism is valid.

It is one thing to do it in summer and now, those 2 are different.
At the end of the transfer market we moved Emerson, Moriba and Griezmann, that saved us ton of money and got us a good sum. Negotiating with new coach won't be a problem

Edit: That being said, I am no expert of Liga rules, and it seems there is a lot of misconception there

The thing is all the proven managers already have a team. Leaving mid season then failing at Barcelona is career suicide.

I am not surprised the board can't agree on xavi, Pirlo, bob Martinez , Gallardo and whatever names were mentioned.

But enough is enough, anybody is better than koeman, we need big balls laporta from 2006 to make a decision and stick to it. And also remove piques and Roberto's and bouquets from the team. If he had the audacity to move deco, Ronaldinho and Eto this should not be a problem.

It is painfully obvious that Laporta was dealt a losing hand for the ages but the level of improvisation so far during his current tenure is simply too high. In particular the entire handling of Koeman?s future. The current unsustainable situation could and should have been avoided and resolved after the devastating and unforgiveable manner in which last season ended. Throughout the period since the boards discontent and disagreements with Koeman have been a constant. ?Projecto Koeman? was one of the many brilliant gifts of Bartomeu and Laporta would never have appointed Koeman himself however I am baffled by Laporta?s bizarre turnaround in regards to Koeman. It is as if Laporta is of the belief that Koeman and the current squad are able to replicate what occured during the 2003-04 season, in particular the second part of that season. I don?t see that happening at all but I hope to be proven wrong. The current entorno of the club is toxic to put it mildly but not everything is bleak so there will be light at the end of the tunnel eventually in the immediate future. Preferably without Koeman at the helm.

Agree

I can only hypothesize the reticence from Laporta to fire in summer or now is linked to the termination clauses that will destabilize the club further financially. Whatever the strategy, ultimately it appears he appears to want to take the path of least resistance and wait his contract out irrespective of how poor the team plays/performs or the discontent among fans

He pleads patience but effectively wants us to accept the continuity of mediocrity and still support it - it's outrageous

People talking about Barto hurting the club so bad it needs 2000 years to fix, guess they never looked to way bigger and way more complicated entities who were in trouble more than FCB.

It's a freaking football club not a NASA project !!

6 months and still crying about the previous president.

His brain is in a Freez mode.

Sticking with Koeman is a bad decision. Everyone knows it. He should concentrate on raising money instead of whining about the lack of it. We are still a big name but anymore humiliations and noone will touch us. I think our deal with Nike is getting over soon and they won't renew at this rate.

To be fair Barto ruined the club financially AND left a shit squad behind. Say about Laporta what you want (how he handles Koeman isn't a good look for sure for example), but the situation honestly couldn't have been that much worse for a supposed elite club like Barca.

It will definitely take some time to recover, no matter who is president.

Not saying Barto did us a favor.

But when you sell yourself as the savior and when comes to the job start whining about how hard it is ...

Fucking put a competent president from a mid sized, company it's a joke for him this situation

Laporta can't raise any money from a name so popular as FCB ? like really ...

Just the politician in him coming through  Always big promises.

So far it's still hard to judge, decisive will be the replacement for Koeman, and of course finally sacking him in the first place lol. And then next summer. I don't really care for the talking, but he has to deliver something meaningful at some point. No matter how much Barto fucked us he won't hire our next coach, that one is 100% on Laporta and his board.

Bartomeu sporting plans.

Sign Neymar and Suarez to lessen the dependence on Messi and modernise the club after the failed Messi false 9 experiment.

Sign MATS And Bravo for them to compete with eachother and keeping both on toes until MATS blackmails board and threatens to go to City.

Sign Rakitic as the perfect replacement of Xavi.

Constantly trying to rebuild and failing with Alex Vidal, Coutinho, Dembele, Griezmann failing to replace Suarez Iniesta Alves Neymar respectively.

Have the perfect coaches, with Barca connections until post Valverde era when it all fell apart.

Had a plan to keep Messi involving the sale of Barca corporate with a buy back clause which he passed on to Laporta.

Meanwhile Laporta's plan is ???? Make apology video and tell everyone to remain calm

Creating a larger dependance on having a great attack, and lessening the work needed on defence and buildup

Yes it was a bit strange to have two world class keepers at the same time.

Lol! Only in the mind of the uruguayan trolls he paid very well to defame Xavi and others.

Yeah, he failed with a lot of transfers. The strategy was very much faulty, but even so, he failed spectacularily with almost every transfer.

He was the one to sack Valverde right?

What was Messis plan?

Let's give Laporta at least one more year before judging. To be very fair he shouldn't be compared before he spent what 5-6bn euros on transfer fees alone.
