Manchester United signed a deal with Tezos and got 24m a year for their training kits alone. Reverter and Laporta take notice.
Laporta's board are intensively reworking the 'Espai Bar?a' project that Bartomeu's board had designed. Laporta wants the project to look more like the one he had during his first term (architect Norman Foster's project).

Barto's looks 1000x better
Like damn
The article that talks about it is quite concerning. I hope it is not yet another episode of Laporta's nepotism.

Laporta moves the new Camp Nou away from Bartomeu and brings it closer to Foster
One of the objectives of the board of directors of Joan Laporta in the coming months is to be able to move some machine this summer to begin the remodeling of the Camp Nou, which is expected to be completed in 2025. For this reason, work is being done to have a license in phases that allows, at least, to make the cementations. In addition, there would also be a demolition license necessary to bring some structures of the FC Barcelona stadium to the ground before starting the remodeling. But from now until the summer there will be no material time to obtain the definitive license of works. "Unless the political part of Barcelona City Council puts pressure on the technicians to streamline the process," said a source familiar with the heritage project.
IDOM, increasingly weighty
"IDOM always wanted to energize Nikken Sekkei's project (which was approved by the Bartomeu board) because they are very commercially aggressive," a source with knowledge of what is happening tells ARA. "And now they are in charge of the project becoming more and more similar to what Laporta had during his first term (Norman Foster's) and less so than Sikkei's," he added. This company has experienced some controversies in the construction of other stadiums of the Spanish league. In the new San Mam?s, whose structure was designed by IDOM, there were leaks and even floods in November 2013, just two months after it opened. An expedition of Bar?a executives visited precisely the Basque stadium, coinciding with the last cup match, to observe aspects of operations. On the other hand, in November there were also important leaks on the new roof of the City of Valencia. Only a year earlier, the refurbishment of the stadium, carried out by IDOM, had been completed.
The board, which is optimistic about starting work this summer, although it has not yet awarded the work to any construction company, is intensively redoing the Espai Bar?a project designed by the board of directors of Josep Maria Bartomeu. And this will mean that when the update has been specified, the City Council must approve it, a procedure that experts say can take many months. The Spanish company IDOM has gained a lot of weight in this remodeling of the project since the arrival to the presidency of Laporta in March 2021. In fact, IDOM, who also works for La Liga, already collaborated with Bar?a during the election campaign, preparing the presentations of the Espai Bar?a that were made at the headquarters of the Moritz Factory. In addition, Ramon Ram?rez, the replacement for Bill Mannarelli at the head of the Espai Bar?a department, is a former IDOM employee.
Little experience in sports facilities
One fact that worries some connoisseurs of the Espai Bar?a project is that right now the main managers do not have experience in top-level sports facilities. Without going any further, the director of the department, Ramon Ram?rez, is a civil engineer specialized, among other areas, in the railway. However, inside the club they report that their task "is as a manager" and new decisions can be made later if the situation requires it. Most of the other workers are project managers who had previously worked together.
"There is a lack of knowledge at the club about how things work in the construction of sports facilities and disorganisation in the Espai Bar?a department," says one person who worked there. "There are repeated employee profiles and problems have been solved by hiring more and more staff [referring to the Bartomeu board], which has led to an exorbitant number of workers [almost thirty], and for years young employees have been paid between 40,000 and 45,000 euros a year, a figure that in this sector you do not achieve until you have a decade of experience", Add. Meanwhile, several club executives are on a trip to close the €1.5 billion funding for Espai Bar?a, which the telematics referendum gave permission to seek.
Let's see if this works...
Thanks. I'm not worried about the construction company or design, they are both great. My concern is related to all of the bureaucratic challenges ahead for the project that will cause months delay.
I think we can all agree Laporta is fucking clueless
Just drop the ego and use Bartomeu's plans for the project
L for fraud
Barcelona had announced months ago that they lost ?487M last season. Tebas did not believe it, and appointed a company to make a second audit. According to that audit, Bar?a's losses for the 20-21 season were less than half of what the club claimed.
? @sport
There were reasons for that. We'll be much better off in the future thanks to writing off a lot of shit this season. Laporta will benefit from that as well as a lot of blame is put on Bartomeu.
