Pedri did well, but rested Pedri would have done even better. I think that was the biggest complaint from people and potentially causing an injury without enough rest.

Go look last year's threads, I am sure you will find a point where Pedris level started dropping.

Gavi will definitely have more injuries than average player if he keeps jumping to challenges head first. Literally head first. The guy is simply nuts. A bit too nuts for his own good.

Pedri was coming off early in majority of matches and was still playing well. This idea he was at deaths door and knackered was false and team needed him as Granada game showed.

Pedri was better towards end of last season than Gavi has been the past couple months....

Then he was best mid at Euros and as fit as anyone there.

From beginning of season to the end Pedri was a better player. The issue is once folk get into their heads the idea a player is tired then any mis placed pass or drop in performance at all is attributed to that. Also Pedris style of running even when fresh folk think he looks tired or struggling half the time.

And where did this get us? Nowhere. Team just got worse and worse every season, no competition, nothing. Dembele, Griezmann and Coutinho ruined us financially but for the squad this never ending stream of mediocre signings was just as hurtful.

We just kept buying and selling players but never established a new core, and once the veterans were finally squeezed dry we were left with nothing but kids, bums and old amigos.

The 25-29 year bracket should be filled in with some of the names above, but they all failed. Look at the team, we have Dembele who will leave and Frenkie who might also get sold, Depay who just joined last summer, Adama who joined in winter and is gone as well, crippled Umtiti, and finally Lenglet who's shit and supposedly about to get kicked out too.

That's another story. My point was just that none of the mentioned players turning out a starter wasn't surprising because they were not bought to be starters in first place.

Most of them were not bought to be starters.

And many were also sold if not for a profit at least not for a big loss.

Arthur, Semedo, Gomes, Mina were signed to be starter either immediately or within a couple of years.
Players like Arda & Paco were signed to be a borderline starter who plays 2.5K minutes or so per year

Probably true for some of them, but that's another problem in and of itself. Buying players for 30+ mil solely to bench them, that's almost worse than failing to buy starters.

Either way they didn't help us in any way, so looking back that contributed massively to the mess of a squad we got today. So shouldn't be forgotten just because the three 100M flops overshadow the rest.

7 years and counting of terrible recruitments.

Paco was never signed to be a world class back up.

He was signed as someone they saw knew la liga and would not rock the boat when sitting out vast majority of minutes as likes of Suarez can rarely be rested/dropped.

Rathet than going for ambitious types desperate to get in team they were so shit scared of amigos and didnt even want to sign back ups that would pose a challenge to them or cause issues when dont play a lot.

Pedro is irrelevant to the discussion really as two completely different situations.

So the sporting and economic area of the club want him to sign the revised CVC deal the club managed to negotiate, but he has now seemingly vetoed it.

So currently we're probably not able to sign any players and perhaps even register Kessie and Christensen. And even if he has another deal with Goldman Sachs in place he need La Liga's approval of it being counted as income I believe? Which might not be very easy.

CVC is too much really.

If can get a Haaland type then fair enough but not to just be able to sign free transfers and 34 year old strikers.

The issue is the club wont be able to register players already signed Kessie/Christsen without it or without selling FDJ most likely.

Be as well trying to keep the future income of BLM, Corporate and TV deals and have gone with same squad again to try and get top four at least.

Then hope better place next summer.

Maybe take in some players if can through sales and swaps under current rules.

Cvc deal is a desperation play, it's a horrible deal anyone that understands basic math will immediately understand this, glad some more are coming to that realization took them long enough.

Fans just have to accept we are fucked for a while, if you aren't a Barcelona fan to the heart now is a good time to hop off the train, because it's gonna be rough for 2 more years at least bar something unexpected.

Bartomeu, his board & fans killed us, tebas is now trying to bury us as fast as possible.

Of course it is a 'horrible deal' but depends what Barca can do with the money and what an improved Barca brings to league.

If CVC allowed Barca to sign top players and better tv deals for La Liga etc it can be some way a lot more worth it.. to sign players in their mid 30s not so much.

Some will decide whether it is a good deal or not and if board had no choice or not after the fact as will claim great job being done either way.

CVC doesn't help when 80% (more or less) has to be used for activations of the club. A bit of a joke when the marketing and branding of Barcelona and Madrid is light-years ahead of LaLiga and the two being the two biggest brands in football precovid.
