I think the main items on the agenda should have been signing a DM and an athletic forward who can get in behind. Especially when we're considering that Xavi's best football was played with both Dembele and Busquets (declined, but still an actual DM), then they both left and we had no forward capable of takeons and Romeu at DM, which is probably the reason we looked poor last season.

I wonder if Onana would have been a better signing rather than Olmo this window. Olmo is not a bad signing and probably adds some creativity we needed to our attack actually but maybe sorting out DM was more important.

Nico was their attempt at addressing the attacking problem but really anyone with a similar profile would do, even though at the moment top level wingers are hard to find. If Dembele wanted a higher wage I would have given it as long as it wasn't astronomical, but in terms of signings, there were some 1v1 wingers moving on the market like Doku or Barcola, or even someone like Diaby at the time. Zhegrova is another one I would keep an eye on.

If you are talking about last summer, regarding replacements for dembele and busquest, then we didn't really have any money to sign anyone, which is why they brought in those players on loan, and at the start of the season, we were all happy with cancelo myself including, it turn south in the end though, but I'd still take him on another loan.

Felix most were happy with initially as well.

But if you mean this summer, a fast winger was clearly the priority even over a DM, and their are valid reasons why.

I have said myself, I would have preferred a DM over Olmo multiple times and I think that's the direction they should have went, but I'm guessing with us using a double pivot, they see that as less of a need, than finding a solution up front, going into the season, replying on lewa, yamal, raphinha and their their is a big drop off in quality after that, isn't ideal I'm just trying to see things from their prospective here.

But if it was me in charge, I would have signed a DM, but I'm not as angry at the signing of Olmo as some are, I think he will be good for us .

The squad is still decent if all fit and Flick will have to work round the obvious flaws.

It is just a bit sad where could be now with all these young players and players there prior if had signed better.

Onto 24/25!

He has been as expected.

Winging it without much of a plan.

As it stands Real will be absolutely delighted if he stays past 2026.

Probably put up that banner again themselves.

There were already calls in the stadium of people wanting him out last season. No way he survives a bad season. Need to hope Flick can deliver some magic with the squad he has.

This is an older Laporta surrounded with idiots. Not the young, charismatic devil of the 2010s with competent people around him. He cannot survive more humiliations.

He has become impossible to defend. The transfers and squad planning have been excruciating.

1). We STILL have no right back

2). WE STILL have no pure DM

3) We are going in to the season expecting two La Masia kids to fill in at CDM. LOL.

4). We STILL don't have a LW.

5). Our only LW options are a right winger ( Raph) and a CAM ( Olmo ). FUCKING LOL.

6). The only signing we made was to oust a player who has just had one of the best individual tournaments in international football you could ever wish to see

7). We can't even register that signing for the first game of the season. MEGA FUCKING LOL.

7). The signings of Lewa and Gundo were unnecessary on the pitch, and have financially crippled us off the pitch.

8). Two words : Vitor and Roque .

You have to laugh at this shit, otherwise you will cry. It's truly mind boggling.:rofl1::w000t:

Yup. Everything that made him successful is at Man City turning that club into the creme de la creme. Unfortunate stuff.

Atleti havent registered Julian Alvarez either. League is crooked.

Olmo won't be registered until there are exits. The whole of the league needs exits to register players.

Valencia are loaning Mamashwarma DIRECTLY to Bournement so that they can make 30m from Liverpool in a years time. That's how desperate things are in Spanish football.

Who are they going to put in goal? Peter Lims son (if they can afford him).

Dimitrievski, he signed as free agent.
But he had a Mamardashvili clause, if Giorgi isn't sold or loaned, Stole contract becomes void and he turns into FA.

They made the decision to let Mamardashvili go before the mercato has started because they needed cash.

I can agree but olmo.is somehow needed. First he can score goals, second he can play inside forward. Given our attack and our money paying 50 mil in years to come is more good than shifting 75 mil on nico in one go.
Also we have no DM for a ucl win but more realistically our attack was so collapsed that we were very lucky to get out of ucl group stage, to get a second place.
So I think this trasfer will help us fight for the second place, and this is our best bet this season

IIRC I've read that Stole could leave for 3m if Giorgi would stay.

Speaks volumes how ****** we are. Bournemouth blowing amounts like this, sure they made some sale but still it's pretty mind-blowing.. In the end money matters, a lot. We can never be a top team without money.

Pretty sick players going from Porto to Bournemouth. Money is a pull no matter what.
