Alba was close to getting the green light when he got injured again on Thursday. He suffered the injury in his last shot on training. [md]

I'm wondering if not having Alba as LB has made Barça's defense more solid, or if it's just a coincidence...

I'm not sure about it, yet. When both Alves and Alba played, Barça's defense was often uncovered, and suffered a lot of counters. Adriano and Montoya are more defensive-minded.
I'll wait for him to come back, to be sure if it's acoincidence or not.

That's an obvious thing to say from the moment both Alves and Alba are attacking minded players but i don't think Adriano has the best of defensive abilities plus we can't rely on him of course because of his injuries, maybe if you mention defensive minded meaning that he doesn't go forward so often, but having having so good defensive abilities not really. The fact is and it's already known long time ago is that only one attacking minded fullback should be starting and that based on performances. With Montoya we have more stability, so he should be given much time until he is himself stable for that kind of job. Both Alves and Alba shouldn't be in the pitch at the same time but you can't rely on Adriano as i said above either, so Montoya is our only option. But from the moment both of Alves and Alba don't have the best of defensive abilities i judge them about it but mostly i judge them what they offer attacking because that's what kind of players are they.

Adriano might have some defensive problems and blunders sometimes, but this season he's been good defending, for most of the time.

Yeah, I don't agree...I still see an Adriano, despite his pace, getting caught out of position more than any of our defenders...Truth is, I'd wager that most of the goals conceded this season have been as a result of his direct involvement or error
